Here's another addition to the upgrade to the line-of-sight maps. You can now click on the terrain diagram at any point to see it mapped.

The "All transmitters with faults and engineering" page has been upgraded to make it easier to understand where the current faults are on the Freeview transmitter network.

Want EVEN better ADVANCED aerial to Freeview transmitter terrain plots?

Following on from yesterday, I have added an "advanced mode" to the new UK Free terrain plots. You can now choose the aerial height above ground level, and see the transmitters you can't get a signal from.

UK Free TV now has improved terrain plots, which show the line-of-sight between the aerial on the roof and the digital television transmitter. In addition to this, there are several other bug fixes.

There have been some upgrades to UK Free TV to deal with new information. This includes various maps, the analogue and DAB radio pages, and fixes for the transmitter information system.

Telling lies? Freeview HD needs no new aerial, nor does play/record/pause

I just spotted this Press Release claiming that "anyone interested in the new Freeview+ HD service that they may require an aerial upgrade to reap all of the benefits of this new system, as some of the older aerials do not have full signal support for all Freeview HD Digital channels and the Plus record, pause and rewind capabilities"

Will BBC One HD have a DOG? Guess what the "other" BBC HD channel be called

The BBC is about to run two HD channels, the existing one, and BBC One HD. Please speculate about if the channel will have a DOG, and what the other one gets called.

Freeview retune - poor public service transmitters deal

5.1 million people are about to feel they are not getting a choice from Freeview. Two time-shifts and four HD simulcasts and just one news provider when you have limited channels is a poor deal.
