Really annoyed to have lost many of the itv and channel 4 channels, film 4, more 4, itv 3, itv 4, the itv + channels, what a let down, understand many of channels probably from alexander palace in my area. Is this a con to get people to pay for satellite?J

fatima redwan: Alexandra Palace wasn't transmitting those channels at all up until 4 April, but now it is. If you were getting those channels before, then you must have been getting them from another transmitter. If you haven't already, you need to retune your set-top box or TV, see

And no, it's not a con to get people to pay for satellite. Quite the opposite, part of the point of switchover is to get more channels to more people. J

Sorry, Ally Pally wasn't transmitting those channels and still isn't, so you must have been and can continue to get them from elsewhere.C

London When is the Ally Pally transmitter going to get its scheduled boost?S

London In the month before switchover we had all channels on Freeview and analogue, all from a rooftop aerial pointed at Crystal Palace. I've retuned three different tuners every day.
Since swichover the number of channels varies from day to day or more frequenly. Much of the time there are only some of the more obscure channels with no ITV or BBC or Channel 4. This morning there was BBC but no ITV, then for a few hours all channels, then briefly nothing at all, and now BBC and some others again but no ITV.
Are they still tweaking the transmitter to adjust the signal? I dont want to waste money on a TV aerial engineer if that's still going on.
