Just retuned. 67 is a dead loss quality wise so am missing those channels. Note that the rating above is "very low". Is this going to improve ?

I to have now lost all channels on C67. Like the other Gareth, I have lost everything. I don't want Sky Sports but I know it does make things better for those who do want Sky sports. Before the retune I had a full complement of the old C59 about 50% strength.

I have just finished a 2nd retune and I am getting a stronger signal for these channels from Wenvoe on the back of my aerial which is pointing the wrong direction!

Roll on the signal strength boost next year!!!

I thought we were all done in Bristol, then we get this pesky message to retune. It is such a waste of time, deleting all those rubbish channels for the umpteenth time and reprogramming the recording schedule.

However, this website is a sanity saver, thank you! Also saved me some money as I didn't bother upgrading my loft aerial until Mendip had some channels on full strength... then I discovered I didn't need to!

On 11 Jan 2011 MUX6 on MENDIP, ie "Yesterday", "ITV4" and the rest moved from Ch59 to Ch67, so do a manual retune of CH67 and they all come back into their correct slots.

Nice that we were told. I thought I had an aerial problem!!!!!

I still cannot tune Ch67 on the iDTVs - Set top boxes still OK. A couple of observations, though, the service on ITV1+1 is from Wales yet ITV1 is from Bristol and what is the point of broadcasting Daybreak on ITV1+1?

Is there any solution to this retune issue? By the way I am in Chippenham

Pete Green,

I don't follow this site as I'm out at work.
This morning MUX6 channels just showed "no signal" I then found this site and found out about the change. Everyone I know is now complaining that they have lost channels and we know this goes on regularly into 2012.

Nothing said about the chaos this changeover to digital is causing, just how well it's all being "rolled out" across the country.

My cat could do better!

Well thanks very much to the idoit who in their infinite wisdom decided to move Film 4, yesterday etc to ch67, having done a re-scan my signal is now so poor it is virtually unwatchable! when before on ch59 I always got a faitly strong signal. I seem to remember 67 being used before and getting a good signal, my installation is unchanged and all other MUX s are fine so I must conclude they have lowered the power yet again on ch 67. I am just about fed up with this constant messing around and will probably ditch mendip when Ridge Hill changes over in april if I can get a better signal from there, until then no Film4 etc.

I'll add my name to the list of people unable to pick up channel 67, but it was always a matter of luck and weather as to whether I could pick them up on their old channel. Who knows, when it stops tipping it down they might come back :)

We are in Yatton and also cannot get channel 67, have done every type of retune, including manual which states the service cannot be found. Do we have to wait until September for channel 67, will we definately be able to pick it up then?

I am in Chippenham using Freeview and get the welsh news on ITV1+1. What a lash up!! If a region doesn't broadcast its local news on ITV1+1 why bother at all?
Chris
Thursday 13 January 2011 10:42PM
I'm in central Swindon and C57 is barely usable on the PVR and not receivable on the DTV. Before the change for ITV1+1, even the low power MUX's were perfectly watchable.

Why the hell has this change been made - from having no problems with any channels I also now have no Film 4 etc. This is absolutely unacceptable - please raise the power levels on Ch 67 NOW.

just done a manual retune of my Humax 9200 on Mendip again......grrr
I've found channels on 54,56,61,62 and 67 but nothing on 58. Is this an HD only multiplex and that's why i find no channels?
Keith McHugh
Sunday 16 January 2011 1:20PM
I've just tried channel 12 and the associated channels on that multiplex. I'm getting pictures but they are all breaking up.

Is there anyone we can complain to like OFCOM ? There seems to be so many problems with Mendip that something should be done.

Sunday 16 January 2011 2:08PM
I cannot get Film 4 or 4Music on the usual channels of 14 and 18 on Freeview, however I can get them on channels 812 and 801 respectively - which is very annoying.

Anyone know a fix for this?

I have also lost most of the free view channels after retune and told I need a new aerial by your helpline, it works perfectly well before the retune so why should I be expected to buy a new aerial when it your mistake I would look forward to your reply.
And you call this an upgrade I think not.

Re recent comment have several TVs with Freeview all have retuned with no problem so signal strength seems ok the problem seems to be with the ICAN box. Any one got any similar problems ;the missing channels are available on 801 etc presumably from the South West transmitter

Channel 58 is the HD channel.

Sunday 16 January 2011 8:27PM
Can see Mendip Tx out of the window!
UHF 61 at 68%
54 at 48%
56 at 35%
62 at 1% (so TV is picking up nothing but PVR gets blocky picture)
67 is No Signal!

Why are 62 and 67 at so low power?
Bizman
Sunday 16 January 2011 9:11PM
I am miles away from the transmitter but only recently have lost Ch59, well not completely, my PVR and a STB have lost it, but the TV is still receiving it perfectly despite the aerial being at the end of the daisy-chain via the other two. Might rig up an aerial amplifier tomorrow and see what happens.
Briantist
Monday 17 January 2011 8:55AM
Paul: The services not on full power have frequencies that are still in use for analogue services in neighbouring transmitter regions and can only be put at full power levels when those regions switch.
Dave
Monday 17 January 2011 2:19PM
Hi Paul
Doubt if you have aerial problems, if anything you maybe receving to much signal which gives same symptom, but i doubt this due to the fact you were ok before the change on the 11th.
More likely proberly pulling from another transmitter.
A quick fix for you is just auto scan with aeral diconnected to clean it out, then auto scan again and reconnect aerial when its about 6o% through its scan, hence it should only load mendip.
Otherwise load manualy.
Kind regards
Dave

Monday 17 January 2011 2:25PM
Sorry Paul
I miss read your post.
Oviously check your connections, but at a guess unless you got faulty receiver id say you may well have to much signal going into it.
If you dont want to call anyone out for a meter check, maybe worth hooking another recevier to your aerial.

I've retuned all our TVs/digiboxes since 11 Jan, and all except our main Panasonic TV seem to have picked up all channels again from the Mendip transmitter. Humax PVRs seem OK, but the Panasonic TV is now not receiving via its own tuner the channels transmitted at a lower power (Channel 12 - Yesterday, etc.). We live in Compton Dundon, near Street, and have had no problems receiving channels to date since digital switchover last year.

After Mendip retune on January 11th i have all the channels on my TV but can only get channels attributed to CH54 and CH61 on my DVD Recorder (Panasonic DMR-EX???). Which is odd as the aerial goes into the TV via the DVD Recorder so you would've thought it would have been the other way round i.e. weaker tuning on TV rather than DVD Recorder. I have a horizontally loft mounted aerial that works perfectly for all the other TVs in the house. Any ideas anyone??

Tuesday 18 January 2011 10:51AM
I have retuned again this morning mainly because the weather is much improved today from the gloom of the past week. Our tv with STB now has all the missing channels back in place. Has itv1+1 but not Sky Sports1 or SS2. I would guess this is down to work at the transmitter rather than the weather though. Post Code BA1
