Notes

'Out of group' frequencies are marked with a star. Analogue power output 100 Watts, post switchover average digital multiplex output will be 17 Watts.

To receive signals from this transmitter, the aerial must be mounted for vertical polarization - the elements going from top to bottom.

Before switchover, the public service broadcasting multiplexes were 1, 2 and B; afterwards they were first PSB1, 2 and 3 but now called BBCA, D3+4 and BBCB. The commercial multiplexes A, C and D had initial post-switchover names COM4, 5 and 6; now they are SDN, ArqA and ArqB. At switchover BBCA, ArqA and ArqB will switch from 16QAM to 64QAM mode transmission, so five multiplexes will transmit in the 64QAM (2/3) 8k mode. BBCB is used for Freeview HD (DVB-T2, 256QAM), and has a pre-switchover service on selected main transmitters.

After switchover an existing group B aerial will provide all digital TV services.

Peters: because the commercial multiplex operators decided not to spend the money to put their services on all the relay transmitters. See "No new full Freeview transmitters" at No new full Freeview transmitters | ukfree.tv - independent digital television and switchover advice, since 2002 not sure if the frequency plan was devised in such a way that the commercial multiplexes could be added back in later, should the operators choose to do so. They won't, please see the above comments about PSB and COM muxs.
The only way to get them is by freesat or try receiving direct from Stockland Hill TX (map)

I have installed a Humax pvr in Bridport using the repeater. All works fine apart from updating the guide. Looking at BBC1 as recommended within 7 mins it is updated for a week apart from ITV1,CH4,CH5,ITV2, ITV3,CH4+1, MORE 4, ITV4 AND E4. These never update apart from the present transmissions. I have tried this Humax in Long Bredy looking at Stockland Hill and the guide updates all channels. Today 15.6.2009 I have again tried in Bridport but the same channels do not update.
Please advise whether there is a local repeater problem.

Thank you

Mike Shepherd

I live just north of Bridport & have 2 indoor ariels for 2 tv which have both been working reasonably well until yesterday evening when both lost the picture.the strength is about 60-70% which has been ok for limited program reception. Is there a problem with the local booster in Bridport?

John: No, there is no problem with the transmitter. The transmitter is a relay, not a "booster". You probably would be best advised to use a rooftop aerial for reliable digital reception.

The following day about lunchtime after losing all our freeview completely at about 21.30 we had about 5 power cuts within 1/2 hour then all of a sudden it was all working perfectly again!Could it be that the relay had been damaged by the storms & then they had fixed it? (map)

John: It is possible, but there could also be other explanations.

Anthony Ashley: Sorry about that, my new system isn't finished yet. I'll see if I can patch the old one to not say things like that for switched transmitters.
