Notes

'Out of group' frequencies are marked with a star. Analogue power output 100 Watts, post switchover average digital multiplex output will be 18 Watts.

To receive signals from this transmitter, the aerial must be mounted for vertical polarization - the elements going from top to bottom.

Before switchover, the public service broadcasting multiplexes were 1, 2 and B; afterwards they were first PSB1, 2 and 3 but now called BBCA, D3+4 and BBCB. The commercial multiplexes A, C and D had initial post-switchover names COM4, 5 and 6; now they are SDN, ArqA and ArqB. At switchover BBCA, ArqA and ArqB will switch from 16QAM to 64QAM mode transmission, so five multiplexes will transmit in the 64QAM (2/3) 8k mode. BBCB is used for Freeview HD (DVB-T2, 256QAM), and has a pre-switchover service on selected main transmitters.

After switchover an existing group B aerial will provide all digital TV services.

In Tiverton the reception for freeview is very poor. We had an engineer round to sort it out but because of all the trees it the area the signal will never get through. Our only hope is if the other transmitter (not stockland hill) is put over to digital. Can someone tell me if this will be the case or if we will never be able to have digital.

We have only half or less of the digital channels in Tiverton that there are available in Exeter. Today (30 September) i have retuned as requested, and have lost ITV 3 and 4. My elderly father loves ITV3 and will miss it terribly. The service is poor. We have hardly any channels as it is.

K. Davis: Sorry about that, but ITV3 and ITV4 have swapped with FIVE and ITV2+1. I'm sorry about the loss of ITV3, I suspect if the ITV1+1 plan had not been in place and then dropped that ITV3 would have stayed.

You can still watch it online, click the logo in the box top the right under "watch now".

I have retuned my Freeview box and have LOST ALL my channels. The menu showed that I had 51 channels but NONE of them are visable. Where are they?

Is there any plan to sort out the Tiverton transmitter so that we get a full freview service?

I've just moved a few miles from Honiton (EX14) to Tiverton (EX16) and find no Freeview channels between 14 and 28. Should they be available now or will they be available in the future?

Stuart Mealing:The Tiverton relay only transmits the three PSB multiplexes. There are no plans to add the other multiplexes to relay stations. The only way of receiving a full freeview service is direct reception of Stockland Hill or Beacon Hill.
