DRM is one of those horrible beasts everyone wants to beat down I guess. Although I'm not surprised that the media rush to protect their media, copyright infringement has been around since the days when people used to trade music tapes recorded from the radio or films from their VCR. I just wish I knew why the media sat up and took notice now.
By the way, I wouldn't worry about DRM. In a world where HDDVD was cracked by some software crackers (google "Doom9 + HDDVD"), it would appear that eventually, DRM will lose.
Let's just hope that the big folk realise that it's an idea with no long-term future.
Keep up the good work, ukfreetv. Another reason to dislike micro$oft.
Of course, apple are about as bad for DRM etc, and Linux, while a great OS simply never gets a look-in until some wizard builds the program for it. So I think we'll be stuck with our windows box for a while.
I wonder if the fact that BBC are using the M$ DRM codecs in full knowledge that they are already compromised? maybe this DRM will be pushed on with a wink and a grin... Oops my mistake. BBC should still not have agreed to such conditions, though. Just out of intrest, how do you calculate the coverage areas or the signal quality of the muxes? This hs nothing to do (directly) with freeview - this is HD. Besides, there's not a lot of space. I would rather see a developed and stable freeview platform first (so after 2012), then develop HDTV for the masses... Briantist:
Yeah, I saw right through the whole HD-TV thing when they got released - I knew that only gamers would get real benefit I don't see the simulation, just the figures for DSO. Is it my computer or your end? G

Barnsley On the flip side of your argument, just think: 1% of the population that speak welsh and have to pay for *your* HTV channels due to general taxation...
If it's so second rate, why is it still running?
Probably a bad idea to publish your details like that... Especially when your comments are going to the wrong place.
