I have Freesat (via Sky) with a VHS recorder, and want to purchase a digital recorder with Freeview. I want to connect it up so that I can have either Freeview (which works when Freesat is rained off) or Freesat (which gives more on the red button at times). I have both a standard aerial and a satellite dish connection. I am looking at a Humax recorder which has 2 scart connections. Can I make this work and if so how.

JB38 Thanks for your question. I am looking at the Humax PVR-9300T. I have a Panasonic TX-24DX1 TV. It has 2 SCART connectors. I think I can run the Freeview Box into one and the Sky box into the other. Then depending which I switch on I can watch Sky or Freeview. However the Humax box only appears to have output SCART connections so I cannot record Sky, but I don't think that will be a problem. Am I right?

jb38 Thanks for that. You did not mention the Sky connection but from your answer I assume that the TV will cope with either input.
