Hi I am not receiving BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 BBC 24h hour news channel properly. I have had an engineer out to ensure my TV is fine. Either I get blocking (no signal) or picture & audio break up. The channels are effected mostly between 8pm -10pm. This has just started last week. Please help can't spend a year watching TV like this. Thank you. Hi Page thank you, I was beginning to think I was the only one. Yesterday & tonight, thankfully, the BBC signal has been OK. Maybe the Whitehawk Hill transmitter engineering works have finished. Hopefully it should be OK now - dare I say it. But I agree this week the BBC signal has been shocking. I will still monitor the situation just in case. Hi Brianist, thank you for answering. Can you please tell how long this situation is to continue - "TV (digital) Possible weak signal" please? Hi Brianist, my analogue signal was awful too according to my engineer. I have tweeted you just now, but its hard to get across what you want to say 140 characters. Please may I ask a)Was the poor signal analogue & digital due to the engineering works on Whitehawk Hill Transmitter b) Have those engineering works now finished c) If so will my signal both analogue & digital return to normal service now? d) will you let us know on here if there will further problems? Thank you for your time. I am sorry I am not technically minded at all - I just wanted to watch my TV like I did b4 with good signal. Thank you. Hi all channels have come back on, thanks for the replies thought it was our aerial as our neighbours' TV OK, but then again they may have just missed the no TV blip. Thanks for engineering work message. Hi Brian
Thank you for your speedy response I think I won't re-scan as the TV channels did appear again in their right place without me doing a re-scan. I just wasn't sure if I had to keep doing a re-scan after every time the TV channels went down during engineering work.
Thanks for the engineering updates and for your reply. I appreciate this must be a busy time for you in this area. Hi Brian
I wonder if you can help, I have noticed today (6/2/12) 18:30 on ITV1, blocks of different types of colour keep appearing on our TV screens. I have never seen this before. It seems that only ITV1 is effected. I checked your website which says that the Whitehawk Transmitter is not experiencing any problems and no engineering works are taking place. I'm at a lost why this is occurring. We use Freeview, all I can think of maybe its due to the weather. We are not IT minded at all I'm afraid. Thank you for your time and help regarding this matter. Hi Brian, thanks for getting back to me. Normal service seems to have returned, thankfully, as it became impossible to watch ITV1 due to the colour blocks flashing up without getting a headache. I will book mark your helps links in case this situation occurs again, hopefully it won't. Many thanks for your help and time with this. Thanks Brian and Jay for your replies, most appreciated. Sorry meant to say thanks to Brian, Jay & Jim for your replies. Typing too fast for my own good there. As I say they are appreciated as I'm not expert on these things. Hi I'm not IT minded, but I have just noticed ITV1 has flashing coloured blocks on the screen. Tried the other ITV channels and all is fine there. I also did Freeview ditigal re-tune, but the problem remains. The other TVs in the house are also experiencing the same problem. Wondering if there are any engineering works or what is going on. Thanks Hi just wanted to say the problems I was having with ITV1 seemed to have been resolved. Thank you Hi Brian, I receive Freeview TV from Whitehawk Hill, we have just been given at800 filter today (10/5/13). New 4G mobile services are coming to our area soon. I'm concerned that if this filter doesn't work we will have to switch to SKY or Virgin. We would switch to BT TV as we are with them already, but have been told BT TV will be effected too. Having to pay multiroom Sky & Virgin is a cost we could do without, but it seems this the only way we can watch Freeview TV with good signal. I would be interested in reading your thoughts about the above & wonder if you know if Whitehawk Hill will be effected by 4G and what options are there for us if this the case. I'm hearing conflicting thoughts whether BT TV will be effected by 4G or not. Totally confused now. I'm also hearing these filters we have been given may not work?? Thank you for your time with this post.
Clare Hi Michael and Dave.
Thank you for your replies, hadn't thought of Freesat. Its a case of watch this space I guess. Maybe I should have explained why I am so worried about this. I have Asperger's Syndrome which is form of Autism, thus because of it I struggle with change & the unknown in life. eg in this case there are a lot of what will happen or not happen. I know it sounds stupid and it is difficult for me to explain Asperger's. I do worry about work, hence my money concerns.
Thank you for your help.
Clare Hi Dave
Thank you for your post & help. Ah I see what you are saying, sorry terrible at putting things into perspective, another classic Asperger characteristic, alas. I hope there wont be any interference & the 800 filter,I got yesterday, wont be needed. Although I did lose all BBC channels 2 days ago, but that might be due to the high strong winds we are having here. However if the filter is needed hopefully it will do the job. I guess its a case of watch & see what happens with this test period and take it from there if need be.
