Briantist: Re your listings above - Dave ja vu now on WH COM5/ArqA C61.
I presume it's moved to accommdate Al Jazeera.

D: You're picking up signals from Moel-y-Parc, which your TV is storing first because the channels are lower down the scale (45,48,49,51,52) than Winter Hill (55,58,59,61,62 [and 54 if you have HD]).
The standard way round it is to remove the aerial lead from the TV (or Set-Top Box) then do a factory re-set or new installation scan to clear the system, then start the scan process again and put the aerial back in when it's passed Channel 52 or put the aerial back in and do a manual scan on the Winter Hill channels listed above.

Robert Lee: C57 OK in CH6

Robert Lee: You must have jinxed it! I've now lost C53/C57 from Storeton Wales and C55 (ArqB) from Winter Hill, but only on the secondary STB which is on RF loop from the one connected directly to the aerial. The first box in line is OK. I presume the weather conditions are such that the attenuation (if that's the right word) created by the additional cabling is sufficient to block out SW and the lower powered ArqB from WH. Pressure currently 1003 so I will just wait for it to drop.

Robert Lee: Re loss of signal from Storeton Wales:
The cable extension I mentioned also carries a Sky signal to the second box and when that disappeared, I looked at my set-up and found that the inner copper wire of the co-ax had sheared off inside the connector at the RF Out on the first box. There must have been enough contact to carry the strong signals from Winter Hill but not for the weaker ones from SW and ArqB from WH. I remade the joint and everything is now OK.

David Taeger: If you look at the posts on the Storeton transmitter page over the last couple of days, you will see that it is quite possible for equipment which has previously worked well to suddenly fail.
Two of us in different locations, but on the same transmitter had similar problems, so it would be easy to blame the transmitter but in my case it was a faulty connection.
OK, so it wasn't the weather as Brian suggested it could be, but the fault certainly wasn't the mast.

John T: There was an on-screen message a couple of weeks ago saying that to continue receiving Dave ja vu, you had to re-tune.
This has moved to C61, so try a manual re-tune on C61 only (if your equipment allows it - if not you will have to do a full re-tune).

I'm having trouble with a Grundig tv with built-in Freeview.
Until the recent retune it was OK but now it won't retain most of the channels.
There is roof-mounted C/D aerial which picks up Storeton Wales and Winter Hill and on doing an auto-retune everything is where expected - Wales on 1,2,3 etc. and NW in the 800's. But, put the tv into stand-by and then switch back on again and NW has moved to 1,2,3, nothing at all in the 800's and COM6/ARQB (C55), COM4/SDN (C58) and COM5/ARQA (C61) have disappeared altogether, just leaving the two PSB Muxs.
I've tried re-tuning with the aerial out to clear everything and done manual retunes but it makes no difference.
There is another tv on a separate aerial pointing in the same direction and that is OK and I've connected the Grundig to this one but result is the same as its own aerial.
Anyone any suggestions?

jb38:Thanks for that. When I go there tomorrow I'll try it but I don't recall seeeing a factory reset option on the on-screen menu. I might have to resort to the old adage of "When all else fails, read the instructions".

jb38:Cracked it. First time installation, a bit of deleting and manual retuning to get North West on 1,2,3 and the job's a good 'un.
If you are still interested the tv is a Grundig GU22WDVD3.
Thanks very much for your advice.
