There is no free to air sports channel on freeview and I think Eurosport should come on especially if Sky Sports News comes off early in the new year to make way for pay per view people should push for this as not everyone including me wants pay per view and I agree with earlier comments Eurosport will grow with revenue and would be popular they should get some freeview space I do think its about time it came on dont you. I have heard setanta sports news has been launched but i feel freeview needs a sports channel free to air and a sports news service has everyone else on it has been catered for Film4 + 1 should be left on freeview as if you have missed a film earlier its a great way to catch up i feel C4 Should of put off E4 + 1.Any plans to put Film4 +1 sometime back on freeview I beleive a lot of people will miss it
Will channels not on freeview that will be on FreeSat be added to Freeview at some stages. My other point is why cant Ofcom allocate more space / review multiplexs ( BEFORE 0R AFTER Switchover ) so more entainment and free to air sports channels are included. I still think viewers should campaign for Eurosport to get space and come over to Freeview its on other plaforms and would bring them new higher audiences. I like to see UKGold, Sci-Fi, Living, to come to freeview also. I wont miss FTN and one or two of the shopping channels should go to make way Keep Freeview Free hear hear I totally agree the best solution I feel ofcom should accept is if Sky want their pay per view channels they should aquire more multiplexs and give three channels to freeview free to air Eurosport 2 to replace Sky Sports News, there be no sports service free to air for men otherwise CNN to replace Sky News, and Sci-fi to replace Sky Three. I also think ofcom should get rid one or two of theshopping channels, axe UKTV bright ideas and replaced with UKTV Drama, Gold, Living. I do not want pay per view and will get rid of my freeview box if freeview goes pay per view. People pay through the nose on everything why this as well everyone send this message to ofcome I want Eurosport on freeview Now Abc 1 has gone may I suggest Eurosport buys the channel off Disney so it can get the free space it needs a free to air sports channel is very much needed and would be popular I hope they keep adding channels, UK Gold one, Living, Sci-fi, Eurosport, Hallmark would be good additions to put on eventaully I agree with the comment that many providers value free to air which is why Freeview must stay free I hope we will not need another set-top box and tv to recieve service I have not had st-top box long , The Tv companies cannot not expect viewers to pay up everytime Freeview expands and a new set top box is required I mean switchover has only just started, I hope they have thought of this and Iam sure some viewers if nwe box is required will not bother getting HD service Football aside do you think Setanta might go free to air in the future as ITV is behind it Freeview needs a free to air sports channel footbal would stay pay per view and top boxing but looking at rest of schedule I cannot see why it cant go on in future I agree Ofcom should make more space available and put CNN on FREEVIEW. The lack of space on freeview is Ofcom responsiblity and should give viewers greater choice the shopping channels etc should go my last comment on here ref Setanta wheither it would go free in the future for Non Pay Tv Viewers I was told some programmes would be Free to air from Setanta I dont get it all and I live in Cornwall rural all I get is a few seconds preview before a live match and thats it ITV who own it should decide what they want my agrument with the credit crunch in this country at moment ie rising standards of living etc when will Tv bosses finally learn people top or low incomers cant afford to keep shelling out for pay tv ETC no matter what the price a free to air sports channel is much needed there is a big gap in the market for that what happened to Setanta Sports News coming to vacant channel 15 on freeview Why Cant EuroNews and Men and Motors be on Freeview as well. More Space should be made arent Ofcom looking into this as well Ofcom should make more bandwith available for more channels on freeview from what I have been reading Freeview will be the poor relation to FreeSat
If you get a integrated Freesat Tv do you still need to buy the dish as well Is The Hits going to Sky and on Freeview becoming 4music I take it hits radio is staying on Freeview Do you still need to get a satelite dish even if you buy Freesat integrated TV etc as Iam not sure Any More New Channels for Freeview planned before switchover HD and Non HD its gone all quiet Freeview needs to offer more plus Ofcom should give them more space HD will cram everyting up I hope a sports channel will bid for free to air HD freeview channel it is badly needed if you dont want subscription ie Setanta or Eurosport Oh by the way you say some Setanta sports programmes are Free to air I live in South West I cant get it Does Anyone know yet if brilliant Sky Sports News is staying or coming off Freeview it be missed if it does ofcom review free to air viewers must be catered for why call it Freeview then if you have to pay for half of it eh IT wont happen I now but I love to see one of Setanta or Eurosport come free to air because BBC or ITV will not do exclusive sports channel Jeff Stelling and soccer saturday on sky sports news should surely stay free to air its great How about a dedicated Free to Air Sports HD channel they seem to be overlooking this EuroNewsTuesday 16 September 2008 4:48PM
No Chance of this going on Freeview channel 15 still spare since ABC1 went Will that be public service or non who can broadcast on Multiplex A on switchover have you heard about any other new channels ie Watch Albi etc I think Eurosport should go free on Freeview once space becomes available after switchover channel 15 on Freeview is still spare after abc went I though Virgin would use it to go 24 hours on Freeview but no news still so their is limited space legal of course another sugestion would be to launch a highlight free to air channel but KEEP LIVE ON SUBSCRIPTION GOOD IDEA EH Do you know eurosport address I ve put that idea to Setanta not holding out much hope eh ch4 and five should launch a free to air sports channel team up with someone eh I think Men and Motors SHOULD COME BACK TO FREEVIEW AS IT WAS POPULAR unlike shopping channels I agree its all about money and not what people wanna watch eh How about opening up a free to air sports service OUTSIDE OF PUBLIC BROADCASTERS IE EUROSPORT ETC VERY MUCH NEEDED CERTAIN VIEWERS NOT BEING CATERED I KNOW SPORT IS ON MAIN CHANNELS BUT THERE IS NO DEDICATED ONE Will Virgin One ever go 24 hours on Freeview I have no sympathy for Setanta's plight being a non subscriber they only wanted pay to view viewers if you get my drift yet again free to air viewers have been let down by a money first viewers last mentality ESPN will be no exception BBC had a chance to bid for live premier football first time in years and blew it what we viewers actually want is a FREE TO AIR DEDEICATED SPORTS CHANNEL IE LIKE EUROSPORT but will anyone ofcom etc listen I dont think so Government in this instance should intervene Will there be room for more new HD channels due to this HD revoultion and will it be made avaialle to no public service broadcasters ie Living Sky etc Some FTA sports channel is needed whatever the matter wont go away Have these channels new ones been decided yet or are they TV News 2 /Idealextra With this Ofcom review on Pay tv will Sky launch the Picnic service again this would be bad as the excellent Sky Sports news would go along with Sky News, and Sky Three which is rubbish anyhow, with all this ho ha on too much sport on tv doesn't that show there is a need like Eurosport or ESPN ON FREE TO AIR FREEVIEW. it seems Freeview will be full of encryption and nothing free eventually whats the use of Freeview then I wont switch when sky Sports News channel comes off I think sky are scoring a big own goal as a they are not putting channel on Sky Sports 1 this season either as well as taking it off Freeview and who will pau subcription for a news service HD or not. It will be missed especially Soccer Saturday / Midweek Results service which is miles better than BBC One suggestion for future IF SSN does not come back to Freeview Put Soccer Saturday / Midweek specials on Sky 3 / News that would at least be something How is Sky Sports News doing since going Pay per view I just can't see people paying to watch basically a sports news channel is there a small chance it could come back to Freeview and do you think outside of the maun terrestrial broadcasters someone could launch a free to air dedicated sports channel even if its mainly highlights it be something at least dont broadcasters realise through their thick skins is people are tighting their money belts everywhere in these uncertain times I have written off on this matter and I still like to see ESPN OR Eurosport have a go on Freeview more viewers and another angle for them there are more postives than negatives So how is Sky Sports News doing since it came off Freeview I bet not as well as if it stayed big mistake taking it off they probaly gained some viewers but lost more Any news on how sky sports news is getting on since it left freeview I hope esp bearing in mind other comments made it comes back Soccer Saturday is much missed by many I have to watch it down the pub now In Response to Marks Comments couldn;t BBC buy Eurosport or sky puts it on platform as replacement when space is available Great news I just wish Sky Sports News/ Soccer Saturday / UK GOLD would return / come to Freeview some time. Another Movies / Pop channel also needed on Freeview how about VH1 and TCM/ Movies 24
