Purchased a new Freeview Box but it can't dedect any channels on Sky cabling? When I plug in old Sky Box I get full listings. Why?

I did FULL scan with Freeview box but no joy, so am wondering if Sky Dish needs Sky Box to work? If not, how do I fix it so Freeview Box picks up channels on Dish ?
Incidently, why wont a Freeview Box work with current Sky Dish setup? Is there a quick fix for this?

Quad LNB question.
I know you can't receive Freeview through an old sat dish but is it possible to attach a new aerial to use the existing sky cables? If possible, what is the best junction box recommended to join the new aerial cable to the quad LNB Sky cabling?
