I've re-tuned and can now pick up all the BBCA channels, but where I used to get 100% signal strength this now hovers around 60% and I'm getting pixelation on BBC News Ch which I never had before.
Have they actually boosted the power yet (it's still only 13:30 on 12/8/09) Thanks for your reply Briantist. All BBCA channels are now showing fine (after I unplugged the booster, so I suspect that was faulty).
Muxes B, C & D have superb quality, despite only showing 20% signal strength.
However, Muxes A & 2 are pixellating. I know they are showing as 'Very Low' on the above table, but they also show 'C66-' and 'C67+' next to them. Can you explain the + and - symbols as I can't find it explained elsewhere on the site. Why did they bother with this retune now? As far as I am aware, there isn't an iDTV or tuner on the market that is capable of picking up the FreeviewHD transmissions in DVB-T2! @Rhys B
Have you not noticed that ALL the channels continue to use 'old-fashioned' voice-overs, idents and stings.
I fail to see the need for the BBC to tell me that I am watching one of the channels.
If I wanted to know, I'd ask - it's instantly available with the EPG data to all absent-minded viewers. As fair as I know, the BBC ONE HD logo/DOG has already been released to the media.
How long it lasts is another question. I thought ASTRA1x was the name originally given to satellites at the original 19 degrees East position (for Sky analogue & many others), but that 28.2E was all digital and generallt labelled as ASTRA2x, apart from when satellites were moved to replace those that 'died'.
Is there a reason why SES/ASTRA are now mixing/macthing the names, or was I being too simplistic in my view of how that was done? Sorry, I should've read Mike's post above before commenting. He explains it well.
My bad! The only real choice is 'Option 2', to fully auction the franchises once again. It's been 20 years, and this would certainly put to bed Hunt's ludicrous plan for a 'Channel 6' to replace what (essentially) ITV/C3 was created to do almost 60 years ago.
