Tried the new postcode checker but, the transmitter we use i.e.Sandy Heath, is not mentioned at all. We have always used this for analogue and latterly digital reception. Is this a mistake?

ITV1 digital terrestrial, here in PE11 is Anglia West, ITV1+1 is Meridian South East.
Freesat= Anglia East and ITV1+1 is Meridian South East.
ITV1 in PO19 is Meridian South and ITV1+1 is Meridian South East.
Looks like Kent and East Sussex advertisers will get a huge boost to their advertising potential.
Steve in Spalding, at last another person here who gets signals from Sandy Heath.
I have always used Sandy Heath in Spalding and get excellent reception on all 6 multiplexes with just a little time taken getting the alignment correct, so as to reject the Waltham multiplexes which share the same frequency,Ch 42 and 45.
I have been told that reception here is not possible because of the hills!!!!!!!!!,the transmitter is out of sight and I must be mistaken as to which services I receive.
No mistake,I am in the Anglia ITV and BBC East region.
Chris,
There seems to be conflicting information regarding the power levels of PSB 1,2 and 3.from Sandy Heath
180 KW being the final power however, there is also information i.e. from BBC digital switchover roadshow which supports my theory that 180 KW is not being used. Whether the signal is directional and does output 180 KW in some directions is not clear. The answer from the BBC is, until Rowridge Analogue is switched off in Spring 2012, Sandy Heath will not be at 180 KW. this transmitter uses the same PSB channels.
In South Lincolnshire (PE11 2RX)all services are very good indeed on all 6 multiplexes, HD is truly excellent and the correct screen format

Amanda,
I too live in Spalding PE11 2RX but use Sandy Heath, a transmitter which, some sites say we cannot receive, I have perfect reception on 5 sets and also freeview HD on 2 of them, the other sets do not have HD tuners. Where exactly are you live?
Sandy Heath could be a possibility for you as Waltham does not provide local news and does not have HD until D.S.O.in August.
Nigel.

I too have a 37"Panasonic TV with freeview and freesat tuners built-in. I get, from Sandy Heath, 100% signal on all multiplexes and 100% quality on five of them the HD multiplex shows about 20% quality. There has been no pixelating on any picture and there has not been since April 2011.
I also use a Humax HD recorder, the signal quality on all including the HD multiplex is 100%, signal strength between 90% on the PSB channels and about 78% on the comm. multiplexes.
That is using the same source signal, cable etc. so I wonder if the Panasonic TV is not displaying the quality properly on Ch 21? The same could be happening to yours?

Sandy Heath (Central Bedfordshire, England) digital TV transmitter
Saturday 29 October 2011 6:17PM Peterborough
Dennis, I think that you will find that this box does not tune the freeview channels from transmitters which have undergone "digital switchover". I had one, which worked very well until Sandy Heath changed it's mode of transmission on some multiplexes in April, since then as multiplexes powered up and changed mode it will not decode the signal.
Looks as if you need to invest in a new one, not Sony!

shimba: Which version of Meridian do you want to receive? Southampton, Dover or Thames Valley?
TimD: Why are using Tacolneston when Sandy Heath should provide you with far better signals? I have no lyp sync problems with any of my Humax kit.
ITV 1 Southampton does not exist free to view on freesat or freeview. ITV1 Dover (South East does however and is relayed to those viewers in the Sandy Heath area. ITV 1 does not give viewers the closest ITV 1 region otherwise we would have ITV1 London.

m.whitbrook: HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE GREEN SCREEN WITH MY HUMAX AND LOEWE TV,i HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE POWERED UP IN SEQUENCE I TOO WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED, IT WAS NOT!!!!!! MY PANASONIC BLURAY RECORDER WORKS FINE.
Tim, that explains why I assumed you were in the Sandy Heath area. Although my locations shows as Peterborough I am actually in Spalding, 16 miles north of there. If I put my actual postcode into this site it tells me that I cannot receive any signal from Sandy Heath it's "out of sight", which is very strange as lots of folk here use it and the "Digital UK site says we get a very good signal.
Sorry I can't help with your problem re. Tacolneston ITV HD, seems strange if the other HD channels are fine. Next time I go to my cousin in Mattishall, I will take my Humax and load Tacolneston and see what happens.
John Winch,
Just a thought, I have the same Humax and very good it is too!
Go to menu, settings, installation (put in your pincode)manual search.Where it asks channel, put in 21 (Rowridge HD multiplex) scroll down to "Transmission" it needs to say DVB-T2, if it says DVB-T change it. If there is a signal present, the orange and green bars will show (mine says signal 84% quality 100%. Good luck!
David, Are you receiving Sandy Heath? At your location it is possible that you are picking up Crystal Palace too, is approximately in the same direction. If you did a full rescan your receiver could have taken the SDN multiplex from C.P. at a lower quality. Try scanning with the aerial unplugged then, manually input the following channels 21, if you have H.D. then 24, 27, 48.51,and 52. These are the Sandy channels. Here in Spalding I have 100% quality on all multiplexes signals ranging from 83 - 90%
David,
Sorry should have said exactly the opposite direction! Your aerial could be picking up C.P. from the back of the aerial. Seeing the S.D.N. multiplex from C.P.on Ch 25, could store it first ignoring the Sandy multiplex on Ch 51. Also at your locaton, though a long way away, Belmont which uses Ch 25 could reduce the quality of C.P.if it has stored it.
I have had similar problems on Sunday evening, with Sandy Heath on ITV1 Ch4 and 5.

Signal strength very good 84%(as normal) quality 100%(as normal) Humax Fox T2, Loewe TV and Panasonic TV.

Could well be a transmission issue on this multiplex as there is no indication that the signal is poor.
