Hooray!!! Sort of. THe original iplayer wouldn't work at all for me.

The new one works, sort of...the picture is very jumpy, like it's only showing a few frames per second...

I was hoping you wouldn't say that, Brian.
That said, I watch videos/telly online from a number of places (in particular 'surfthechannel.com), and it's only iplayer that gives me any trouble.

I guess I'll have to save up to get my pc upgraded :(

I have been having inversion effect related problems. A scan last night of the analogue tuner revealed the culprait to be French Tv. The signals were much less strong earlier today, and (with low pressure on the way) will probobly be gone by tomorrow....giving me my Freeview back :)

But....my sense of curiosity is getting the better of me...is there any way of finding out where the signals are coming from? I did find a site online, but, it's all in French...

The affected frequencies are...

WENVOE : 40, 43, 46
MENDIP : 56

I *REALLY* hope it's true that Wenvoe will broadcast BBC1/BBC2 from the West region.

I notice it has 8 Muxes when the norm is 7.

I currently use Mendip as my main transmitter for analogue, and am on the 'digital cliff' for Freeview. (I pick up from both Mendip & Wenvoe.)

Maybe Mark from Aberfan can help me out here, being fairly local.

I am worried that I'll lose PSB1 from Mendip due to signal clash from Carmel.

Carmel on analogue is unwatchable from here due to local hills. The picture has about 6 ghosts and the colours are all wrong. Analogue-wise, Mendip comes in at 70-72%, Carmel around 60%.

Post switchover, if I do get signal clash, is there any way to block out the Carmel signal (from here, it's almost 180 degrees from Mendip, so, signal is picked up from the back of the ariel)?

Again, if I can recieve West from Wenvoe, it'll solve the problem anyway.

Yeah...I may well get one of these when I've got a bit of cash. I particularly like the 'no adverts' bit.
One question, though...I like to have hard copies, even of things I've taped off the telly. How easy would it be to transfer stuff to DVD? (I have a DVD recorder).

I hope that after the changeover, there will be a much wider scope of what gets played. There are loads of great bands out there that get scant coverage anywhere since John Peel passed away.
