Why did this not get te same promotion as the road pricing issye where the system became overloaded? Did anyone tell BBC and ITV nesa rooms about it? Is the news on 4+1 new news or a re-run from an hour earlier regardless without updates? Your presentation does not address aerials being used by caravanners and boaters on inland waterways - canals etc. So how can it claim to be "All about aerials"? I live in Northampton where you suggest a Group W aerial. Surely, a better option would be to combine a medium gain Group A aerial - thus potentially improving reception of Channel 21 (where the gain of wideband aerials has fallen off significantly) - with a high gain Group C/D aerial which, for a given size, more gain for the lower powered COM transmitters. Are there any other transmitters where this principle would also be beneficial? Many households already have a suitable Group A aerial thus the only additional cols would be the Group C/D aerial and a combiner. New coaxial feeder may also be beneficial? Can I suggest the following solution for Sandy Heath? Retain the existing Group A aerial to optimise C4 on Ch21 and combine it with a Group E (plus amplifier if improvement needed and possible). Post changeover - or at switchoveer if waiting for this before going digital - replace the Group E aerial with a Group B with 3db more gain thean the Group A one thus the input to the recieveer will be uniform accross all channels. A similar solution may also be possible whenever it provides improvement relative to a wide band aerial? Would the availability of a narrower band aerial designed for channels 40 to 52 only be cost effective because a smaller - thus less costly - aerial would be needed for any given gain? There are a lot of homes within the Sandy Heath coverage area! When using latitude / longitude for the advanced prediction, is east or west positive or negative? Could this info be visible when entering? Could an alternative prediction be available for caravaners, camper vans, canal/river boats etc where the (bent) aerial is typically 2m above ground? Will this protection extend to narrowboats cruising the UK's inland waterways - canals, rivers etc? Will OFCOM ofer boaters free satellite systems which are as easy to operate as Freeview??? With aerials at typically 8ft above the towpath and buildings, hedges etc in the way, reception on a boat is challenging enough without added interference!!
