Briantist: Looking at this particular channel it mentions that " Vision is a new channel launching on Freeview HD soon". Simular wording also applies to CONNECT and STREAM. Looking at the Vision web site it seems as though this channel is going to deliver HD via broadband.

NottsUK: Yes, that's as per the link in the box above. I note that STREAM is being used for a couple of hours a night from 9pm for www.sportstonightlive.com link icon Sports Tonight Live .

Freeview channels 110, 111 & 112 says not compatible with HD Digi Box ??? Digi Box Menu says "unknown text coding" Samsung SH893M Box Samsung LE32C580 TV. what do i have to do in order to receive programmes
Briantist
Tuesday 25 October 2011 7:13PM
R McINTOSH: The Samsung SH893M Box is not a "Freeview HD" box, you will need a "Freeview HD" tuner box to use channels 110, 111 and 112.

We have a tv in our sitting room with built in freeview and find that we cannot get BBC 1 and 2 on digital and have to switch to analogue . BBC 3 and channel 301 are also not good. After April 4th when the analogue system is switched off, will this mean that the digital signal will be boosted? We live in central London in an apartment block, but no-one else seems to have a problem. The tv in the bedroom seems to work fine.

Our broadband router is placed next to the tv. Would that be affecting the digital reception ?

Pauline: Any broadband router (even without the radio link activated) can be a source of potential interference to all types of receiving devices whether it be TV / DAB or ordinary radio or even a Hi-Fi, so move it away to at least 3 feet away from the TV, this also applies to the TV's aerial cable, although in many instances the interference created by a router is picked directly by the TV's internal circuitry and not via the aerial.

bill timms: you need to check if your tv has a socket for an internet connection,if so,you may be able to set it up,if not,i'm afraid you're out of luck.unfortunately also, your tv has to be hd,not hd ready.

joyce: That model is technically unsuitable for this purpose on two counts, these being by it not being fitted with an HD tuner nor is it able to connect to the internet.

I have a TOSHIBA 40RV753B tv. with hd tuner, ineed to get the dongle for it to use these channels,i've been quoted £80 for one!,anyone of anyone else who sells these,i think £ 80 is a bit steep!.has to be onefor the set, using anything else could damage the set & invalidate the warranty.(according to toshiba manual).

Des Collier: You will likely have found this out by now anyway, but just in case that you havent the manual for this model does not indicate that its actually fitted with a DVB-T2 tuner but only an SD DVB-T type, meaning that if you try to manually tune in an HD channel it will respond with either a a "no signal" message or if a signal is indicated it will have zero quality.
Is this dongle you are referring to an actual HD tuner as such? because there is nothing that can be downloaded into the set to make it receive HD channels as its a hardware problem.

jb 38:-,the model no on the back of the set is 40RV753,this tv is full 1080 hd with built in freeview hd tuner, the dongle i require is to allow me to use the internet linked services like VISION & STREAM,for which you have to have a freeview hd box or tuner built in,with internet input.Ido happento have the FULL manual for this set as i printed it of toshiba's website- all 78 pages of it!!!,this set is now just over ayear old,(bought jan 2011) is a cracking set,sd picutes very good,hd -excellent.
The shop where i bought it from quoted me the £80 for the internet dongle, would like to get it cheaper if poss!!.
