What's happened to _Standoff_ on Sky Three? Cracking show, but seems to be getting moved around a lot?

I watched a programme on sky three last night (25/6/07) called crash files, and I found the noise that was played over voice was appalling, half the time you couldn't hear what was being said,at times the music was so ridiculous the only thing to do was mute the programme and just watched what happened in silence.
Surely in the 21st century you have the equipment to tone down noise even though it comes with the show, that is of course if you ever bother to check programmes before you go on air.

do any of your questions ever get answered?

Will sky three be showing catch up of season 6 of 24 and season 3 of lost for us freeview viewers?

Surely they should, they will be out on dvd soon anyway so they might as well.

Why is "Project Runway" listed on the web page as being on Sundays, (Freeview 11) yet the wretched "Dog Whisperer" is shown. Another Web page shows that it is now on Sky 1 (Subscription only).
Why are Freeview viewers treated so?? Surely, it is in the interest of Sky to attract advertisers with good program content.

hello me and my partner watched a programme on sky three called tribal animals it was on at 12.00. it was about elephants african and asian elephants.there were a web site on the end of the show but we did ent get to rite the site down so i dont know if you could forward me the address. it was very heart felt programme which i think should be show earlier so more people can watch it then maybe more thing would get done to help these elephants and the tribes people live so they dont have to kill these lovely animals just for food. it still amazes me that in the twenty first centry people are still starving in this world and animals which will not be here any longer if pople have to kill them just too feed. things need too change.

Please can you help? I watched a programme on Sky3 over a week ago now, on a little boy called Jack whose bones were not growing . I cannot remember the name of the disease, but he was very small and deteriorating. He desperately needs an electric wheel chair. I was hoping there would be an address where I could send a donation for this, but there wasn't. Please could you tell me if there is a reliable place where I could send just a small contribution Thank you DAPHNE Brown

Please could someone tell me how many more times Sky3 are going to show the same Cold Case programmes? I have had Freeview for about three years now and from my knowledge the two editions that are on tonight (Tuesday 18th November 2008) have already been shown SIX TIMES since I had the facility. There have been many series since the ones being shown and as they have been shown on Sky1 presumably they would pass to Sky3????? I really like this programme but am fed up with not seeing an edition that is new to me for about a year.
Briantist
Wednesday 19 November 2008 8:46AM
Kathy: Sky3 is a channel that shows programmes that have been shown already on the Sky1 and Sky2 subscription channels.

Given that Sky1 and Sky2 are quite well know for offering the viewer many chances to see a programme, Sky3 will do just the same.

Note that most US programmes are made in seasons of 26 episodes, which makes for only one new episode every two weeks on average.

Has anyone just watched that programme about Women who leave their children? I just thought the presenter was utterly patronising and failed to see the complexity of any of the cases she examined. She met the three incredibly healthy and stable children that were brought up by their father and then said she thought they'd been badly affected by their mother leaving. She also met another lady who's mother left her at a young age, said she seemed incredibly stable but then on the voice over afterwards still said she thought it was wrong. She did not seem to actively listen to what any of the experts or people who had been in that situation were saying. She even said that some mothers use mental illness as an excuse to leave their children! Has she ever experienced mental ill health herself, does she really understand what it does to people? Should mentally ill mothers stay with their children to scar the children even more? I'm sorry but we can't all live in lovely suburbia like her and make loads of money about single issues on the TV. I used to like her as a presenter but I kinda think she's a bit right of centre now and not too bright. Isn't the purpose of such a programme to bring a balanced view to leave the viewer to make their own mind up? The Sociologist and child psychologist where saying they understood her gut instinct but again had to realise the complexity of women who leave their children. The women who left their children all got visibly upset when talking about it and she re-assured them, only to stab them in the back on the voice over afterwards saying pah! the affair didn't even last. Utterly, utterly patronising and coward like.

Sunday 21 December 2008 4:53PM
I agree entirely with Melanie's views. I too felt this programme was simplistic, and utterly biased against those with mental health problems.
My own experience is of being brought up by a mother who had both post natal depression and a subsequent range of mental health problems. She was in turns depressive, obsessive, reclusive, controlling, and unbelievably cruel. If she could find a way of making me & my sister pay for her misery, she would do so. My father encouraged her to seek help, and she was repeatedly offered psychiatric support, but as she refused to acknowledge that she had a psychiatric probelm & she refused all help. Both myself and my sister had an extremely dysfunctional and traumatic childhood that has had a lasting negative effect on both of us ever since (we are now 53 & 55 yrs old). The only thing I ever wanted when I was a child was for my mother to leave us, so that we could be in peace and try to lead a "normal" childhood. When I was 25 my mother committed suicide. Although we were finally freed from the tyranny of her cruelty, we will never be free of her legacy.
What a shame the programme didn't explore the impact on children of mothers with mental health problems who choose to stay - as I feel this would have given a much more balanced , and possibly very different, view of this very complex subject.

I watched your Sky 3 T.V Programmes with interest. My daughter, Karen McCoy was killed in the plane crash in India. After some trips to India, I finally received the
166 Pages Report from High Court, in Delhi,
India showing what actually had happened, and some mistakes were made which put people's lives to high risk. Have these errors been corrected? Are you interested to receive this particular report?

I have just seen a few minutes of 'The Dog Whisperer' on Sky 3 (11 March 2009).

I am disgusted by the way he is treating what appeared to be a young Dobermann - he might 'whisper' well, but he does NOT need to punch the dog behind the jaw or yank on the lead sufficiently for the dog's front legs to leave the ground.

He also said the the dog's crying out and whimpering 'were what dogs do' - wrong - the dog was in distress - being restrained for a longer period than was tolerable. This is not
good animal welfare.

Is he in the UK? If so, perhaps the RSPCA could get involved.

I am not involved in any way with 'Animal Rights' - I am just a concerned dog owner.
Briantist
Wednesday 11 March 2009 2:12PM
Dr. J. D. Baines: The programme is in the US, where I presume they think that this is OK, in the same way they keep their cats indoors and declaw them.

If you want to know more about this guy, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dog_Whisperer
