Dr. J. D. BainesWednesday 11 March 2009 1:27PM
I have just seen a few minutes of 'The Dog Whisperer' on Sky 3 (11 March 2009).
I am disgusted by the way he is treating what appeared to be a young Dobermann - he might 'whisper' well, but he does NOT need to punch the dog behind the jaw or yank on the lead sufficiently for the dog's front legs to leave the ground.
He also said the the dog's crying out and whimpering 'were what dogs do' - wrong - the dog was in distress - being restrained for a longer period than was tolerable. This is not
good animal welfare.
Is he in the UK? If so, perhaps the RSPCA could get involved.
I am not involved in any way with 'Animal Rights' - I am just a concerned dog owner.Dr. J. D. Baines: The programme is in the US, where I presume they think that this is OK, in the same way they keep their cats indoors and declaw them.
If you want to know more about this guy, please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dog_Whisperer
"Some professional trainers, behavior consultants, and associations believe that Millan's methods are inhumane, referring to the use of alpha rolls, flooding, and constant leash corrections. According to them, these techniques can have serious behavioral consequences." jacquie bunneyThursday 12 March 2009 9:20PM
the hades factor part 1 was on last Monday(?)with no indication when part 2 is on. Tonight at 22.00 is Hades Factor but it is part 1 again??? When can we see part 2?
jacquie bunney: Next week? Sky3 has an lot of what are called "narrative repeats" (repeats in the same week). julia warnerFriday 20 March 2009 4:03AM
You did not advertise when the second part of the Hades Factor was on or the repeats and I have just missed the repeat of the second episode and can't find the view again for sky 3Elaine BirdMonday 20 April 2009 5:22PM
I have a freeview,so obviously get sky3,will you be showing Lost series in the future.
I am unable to pay for a sky subscription, it would be great to watch the all the series, I only watched series 1 many years ago.Peter WalduckFriday 1 May 2009 8:55PM
Why oh why, is Sky 3 putting the very good programme "Dangerous Companions" on at such silly times and not in the evening for everyone to watch an yet they keep putting on the same repeats of the Lion Man over and over again ?Martin LeeSunday 10 May 2009 10:44AM
What has happened to Sky 3 on Freeview? The signal was poor last week, and the channell has been off air for the last few days. Has it been withdrawn fron Freeview as threatened in 2007?Peter WalduckThursday 14 May 2009 12:59PM
There is SOMETIMES a programme on Sky 3 called Dangerous Companions. A brilliant programme but Sky 3 either only show it when they want to or they put it on in the afternoon or middle of the night and yet during the evening between say 7pm and 10pm they prsist in showing repeats over and over again of either Road Wars or the Dog whisperer or Lion Man, programmes which have beern shown time and time again. But the programme "Dangerous Companions" is a brilliant progamme and Sky 3 are reluctant to put it on at sensible times IF AT ALL !Will RichardsTuesday 26 May 2009 10:37PM
Sky 3's 'mothers who leave their children' provided interesting viewing. The presenter however, seemed to be surprised to discover fathers perfectly capable of providing good, loving parental care to the children left with them. This is not news to single fathers like me. However, what I took exception to was the presenter's description of the father's parenting, as good 'mothering'. It is simply good parenting. A good father does not have to emulate a good mother to provide good care, he simply does what he feels is right. A good single mother would not be described as exhibiting 'good fathering' skills would she?
There are at least as many good fathers as mothers, and it is so unjust that this is not recognised by so-called 'family courts' when families break up Bev HiemerSunday 31 May 2009 11:22PM
I just love the Lion Man programes and so do the rest of our family. We love all the repeats too and want to see a new set of programes made too.
Please start a donation for Craig Bush and not Zion Wildlife Park so that HE CAN REGAIN BACK HIS PRECIOUS CATS AND LAND FROM HIS GRASPING MOTHER! Sky 3 you owe it to him to help him out here.
I would be the first to donate followed by my family and friends if only we knew where to send such donations as would get to him and him alone.
Please don't stop showing the lion man programes.Dave GraysonSaturday 6 June 2009 8:04AM
I set my recorder to tape the last 3 episodes of "the Lion Man"(Episodes 18-20)whilst I was away on holiday. For some reason the episodes did not record. Were they actually taken off the air because of the reported death of one of the keepers at Zion Wildlife Park?JacquieMonday 13 July 2009 12:42PM
Do you think that House will eventually be shown on Sky 3. it is on 1 and 2 now which I do not getJacquie: Possibly, but it could be as many as two years, as per normal Sky3 policy. CathMonday 3 August 2009 12:42AM
I so miss the Lion Man! Even the repeats I enjoyed! But I can't Sky on my Freeview box. Please sort this out!

Will Sky3 TV be seeing to it that the so far racially biased program Road Wars gets the mix a lot more EVEN , I have been watching this since the start of Sky3 Road Wars and find it a VERY insulting Program as far as it's filming and consequent showing of cases involving Black Asian or other Ethnic groups and to be almost entirely biased towards Portraying the White English man as the only Guilty party in the Country .
This program needs a major league shakeup to bring it into line with the ACTUAL WORLD not the Racists rose coloured blacks can do no wrong version that is currently showing
pete nFriday 4 June 2010 7:14AM
Briantist: But is it not the responsibility of the Broadcaster to ensure content is correct fair and un-biased and thanks for the link i am in the process of contacting them pete n: Only in terms of news and current affairs, there is no legal requirement in other genres.
You can also complain to Ofcom, if you get no reply from the producer. Celia GunnSaturday 12 June 2010 9:39PM
What was the song at the end of the service at St.Nicholas'Gardens,Whitehaven on the 6th June shown on Sky3 about 6 30pm?wayne lonieThursday 22 July 2010 11:34AM
hi is there any chance of getting signed photos of the road wars proactive teams i think the programme is very goodMrs K BishopThursday 29 July 2010 8:35PM
In the prog "are you smarter than a ten year old" you ask questions on english grammar including about apostrophes and yet when information comes up you have GCSE's when it is plural and should not have an apostrophy.
It would be good to have this correctedMrs K Bishop: Well spotted. LouiseSunday 19 September 2010 12:54PM
I watched a few episodes of Beauty School a few months ago, when it was repeated in the early morning. Does anyone know how I can find a website for this show? Or clips?
AndrewSunday 31 October 2010 5:33PM
just been watching an episode of Are you smarter than.A contestant incorrectly said Edinburgh was More westerly than london or Birmingham. The presenters told her she was right. She was wrong it's on the EAST coast of Scotland.I should know,i was born there.Ian PorterMonday 1 November 2010 12:41AM
Andrew, this sort of question is often referred to as a "trick question" to suck in the gullible. The fact that Edinburgh is on the east coast of Scotland is irrelevant. The longitude (the vertical lines on a map) is 3 degrees west (rounded to the nearest degree), Birmingham is 2 degrees west and London is 0 degrees west (think of Greenwich). It might be easier for you to go into Google Earth and using the menus set view/grid on. Zoom to get the whole of the UK onto the screen. It makes it very obvious. You are clearly not smarter than a (insert any number) old.AndrewMonday 1 November 2010 6:08PM
Ian:
Well i don't consider myself to be gullable and hope that i am"Smarter Than A Ten Year Old".So maybe your theory about grid references is technically correct but trick question or not,the way it was worded was misleading.Off to watch a proper quiz show,"Eggheads"tony schneiderThursday 18 November 2010 4:24PM
what is the frequency symbol rate and lnb of sky3Jim StewartThursday 2 December 2010 7:12PM
Dunfermline Why are chunks of the subtitles missing on every episode of airline?Jim Stewart: You would have to ask Sky, I would expect. susan ThorkildsenMonday 3 January 2011 6:53PM
I am very disappointed with Noel Edmonds on Are You Smarter than a Ten Year Old. He is excellent on Deal or No Deal but on this show, he is awful. He always looks impatient. He often pUts the contestants down to the point of embarrassing them. The two men who present this show are 100 times better. Get Noel off this show. If he wasn't given the answers , he wouldn't have a clue so He is NOT SMARTER THAN THE CONTESTANT like he acts he is..susan Thorkildsen: Thank you for that. Sue GWednesday 12 January 2011 7:29PM
Watched part of last night's extraordinary illnesses - very upset and moved by janet's story. What a very brave and special person. I would like to send her best wishes for a speedy end to her muscular problems - she is such a lovely lady, coping with great fortitude and guts. God bless her. Please forward our best wishes if possible.
