Price drop and bid tv add the pp to the price of the final aution then you will see if it's really a bargain. Check the website for simular prices. Also some of the goods they sell cannot be found anywhere apart from bid up or price drop.

These are sit-up channels part of Virgin media. Fragrancelily >Yes i kind of know what you are trying to get at if you see a jumper at £4.99 that seems like a bargain until you add £7.99p+p and remember the £1.50 for the initial call.

Remember if you watch these channels and order say to yourself is this a panic buy because the item is so cheap and do i need it.
Save £7.99 and £1.50 before you start.

I really would have nothing to do with these people. Apart from the extortionate postage and call charges that they add, there customer service is virtually non-existent. If you ever have a problem, it becomes a real problem because they won't help.

Some of Price Drop / Bid's products are ok. The prices are not bad even if you add on p+p. The only category in which the prices are high are with digital cameras. But anyway they belong to Virgin so it is their fault.

When they send the wrong item or it is faulty and has to be returned, why do they not pay the cost of return postage.

They have a very misleadingly named customer services department that is utterly incapable of helping in any way when they mess it all up - which they seem to do frequently from what I can see.

If you do make the mistake of purchasing anything from them, be prepared for phone calls at any time between midnight and 2 am for the rest of your life which cannot be stopped by any means known to man.

I am having to change my phone number to escape these people.

I have bought lots of items from bid-tv and on the whole have been pleased with all my of the goods except the electrical goods that only seem to work for 3 or 4 weeks and when I rang customer services they dont want to help and the makers dont want to do anything when they know that you have bought the goods of bid tv .

I am a very disatisfied customer of Bid TV / price drop TV.
Yes... certain items are very affordable... and many items are of very poor quality. Like the satins bedding....!!! They fray even before they get to the first wash.
The customer service is appalling and the refund process is time consuming.... often resulting in you making long phone calls that cost alot... and leave you out of pocket!
They do not have the call back proceedures in place, but they can call you to take payment!
If you think that writing will result in a cost effective way of resolving your issue.... dont even think it.... they do not reply! So you will have to call them anyway! I wrote them a letter... asking for my refunds and compensation for phone calls made.... they prefer to ignore!
Beware of the lure of cheap things.... they aint what they seem!
The only thing I have purchased from them of good quality is the Egyptian sheets and the duck down duvet and toppers.

Briantist: I am registered with the telephone preference service and have been for some years and it does not stop price-droptv calling.

When I have pointed this out to their customer dis-service department - and pointed out to them that I believe continuously phoning someone in the early hours of the morning could be seen as harassment, they have pretty much told me that it is my problem and they can't stop it because they use automated dialers.

We am having problems with them now (for the first time, after using their services for some years), a faulty electrical item that was returned costing us a fortune in return P&P, plus the original p&P charges to get the item here in the first place, and we've still not had the costs refunded to my account.

When i've tried emailing for feedabck etc i just keep getting the same automated email messages sent to me.

If this is there idea of customer service then i "WILL NOT" be using their services again (esp not after everything we've read on here matching the problems we're facing now).

If they want your money they should provide good service.

why do people in northern ireland pay a lot more postage for their purchases?

we are still part of Britain or are we paying taxes to another country?

'Price Drop T.V.', 'Bid-Up T.V.' and 'Speed Auction T.V.' are ALL total Rip-Off Channels. The General Public should IMMEDIATELY stop purchasing items off these Channels to force them to close down. Their Postage And Packing Charges are a TOTAL Rip-Off (you cannot possibly justify charging £7.99 to send a ring through the Post)! This could be sent in a Jiffy Bag for 40p! As for £1.50 for the Call. It is a TOTAL SCAM! DO NOT BUY ANY MORE OFF THESE CHANNELS! CLOSE THEM DOWN!

WELL....i used to like the channel !!!....then i was foolish enough to buy somthing.....they employ a cowboy outfit called HOME DELIVERY NETWORK to deliver their items....our goods......when they 1st delivered my item i was at work.....a card was put through the letter box.....so i called them......told them of a safe place to place my goods.......in a brown wheelie bin out the back.....did they.....NO!!!!!!!!...left with someone next door!!!....god knows who that was....they moved 2 weeks ago!!!.....and stolen items to the carrier seems an o.k. thing........this channel needs to take a good look at itself very soon and its carriers....thye are Crap!!!....no doubt this is now going to take ages to sort out!!!.....but my goods are still STOLEN!!!... I WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!! UNTIL THEY GIVE ASSURANCE ON AIR THEY HAVE A GOOD CARRIER......AND TRUST ME I WILL SPREAD THE WORD AROUND THE WHOLE OF THE SOUTH DERBYSHIRE AREA!!!!......ABSOLUTELEY PATHETIC SERVICE!!!!!

I have bought a number of things from Bid TV, Price Drop TV. Can't complain about delivery time between 3-7 days usually. But the postage costs are high especially for small items ( I recently bought 8 DVD box set for a present and was charged £7.99 postage charge - It cost me £2.92 to post by Royal Mail and the person received it the next day).
Customer services are really bad and you would be lucky if you get an English speaking person 9 out 10 times its someone who’s English is not the first language and it takes ages.
It took 3 weeks for them to refund my money back after they over charged me.
Lousy service
They say what great prices they offer, lots of the electrical items are not usually by top names and are the cheaper end of the market with over inflated start prices.
Cd box sets – starting from £70 or some stupid high price - often these box sets do not feature the original recordings and again on a cheap label – they never tell you this

I have bought a couple of items that were del crappo... but have bought hundreds that were great. The few times I have returned an item, I just post it back with the returns form, ring them up and tell them the postage cost, and hey presto I have always got a full refund, including my postage costs.
I bought all my xmas presents on bidtv, giving my daughter 40 pieces of jewellery, all were perfect, accept one..... a stone was missing on a watch, and I sent it back for repair, it did take a few weeks, but other than that, service was brilliant.
Most of my purchases are silver or gold, and I dont think you can go far wrong with these.
Hope you all get to be as happy as me with sit up channels.

The last time I bought diamond articles Watch and bracelet and had them valued the jeweler commented that each diamond was only valued between 50p - £1.He said its not the size or the quantity which adds the value its the quality. If they appear as shattered glass they are virtually worthless.

I am not sure if you will get this but it seems the only way that i May contact you as you do not reply to letters even when a stamped address envelope is enclosed. i did place an order on the 18/05/2008. i used the number for no call back but i still had a call the next day. i had to repeat my number 3 times but then i pointed out that i will not do it again and that i will cancel my order. i was then told that there is a problem with my card. i rang the card company right away and explained the problen i had. i was told that there is nothing wrong with my card and any problems is on the part of Price-drop i rang you back right away and could not get to you. every night until 26/05/2008 we had phone calls about midnight which was nothin more that harasment. my wife and i are disabled and the caller was a nuisance he would keep saying i dont understand you. today i rang you and again gave the same details again. i was then told that some would phone me back which they did. i was then told that my order will be sent with in 7 days. what i would like to know why did i get this problem with you. you can e-mail me or write my address is 25 roche crescent fairwarer Cardiff cf5 3py

All these people have one thing in common they ordered off the channel. Me.. I have NEVER ordered off the chnnel.I WILL NEVER order off the channel. They have somehow got the wrong number and keep calling me wanting to speak to Shirley. I'm a MAN!!!!!. For the first 8 times I informed them nicely that they have the wrong number. After that I started swearing and cussing them in hopes they would blacklist my number. on the 20th call ijust stopped talking. this was over the weekend (2 Days). Then they started to call at midnight!!!!. I have tried to explain that they have the wrong number, nicely and hashly but it dos not get through to them. I have had to disconnect my phone!! I will report this ABUSE to Watchdog and OFcom. This is HARRAssMENT and punishable by law.
