Briantist: ITVi Stream 2 on Astra 2D transponder 49 is now showing itv4 +1. Although the channel name at the moment is still ITVi Stream 2, the DOG is showing itv4 +1.NottsUK: Yes, I believe that ITV4+1 is coming really soon to Freesat. Peter JFriday 6 March 2009 4:49PM
Does anyone know if there is an ITV 2, 3 & 4 problem related to Sutton Coldfield transmitter? Black screen all afternoon today. Only noticed because of tuning in Humax pvr. Same on bult in tv tuner too.

Whitley Bay Since, when prompted by my set, I foolishly downloaded freeview version 5.7 to replace freeview version 3.6, which I did yesterday, I can no longer receive ITV4. I used to get ITV4 on Freeview 28, now I receive E4 on Freeview 28 and ITV4 is not listed. How can I now get ITV4?Mike JonesSaturday 8 August 2009 5:59PM
I have lost ITV4 on my sharp TU-R160 but I have it on my Humax 9200T on channel 800
I get my signalfrom Kilvey Hill any ideas whats going on ?
I only want it for BTCC Mike JonesWednesday 12 August 2009 11:32AM
Briantist: Already tried that but it appears I am getting signals from 2 transmitters as after a retune this morning I have BBC channels in the 800 range as well now and although the EPG shows BBC1 and 2 on channels 1 and 2 there is no picture or sound I have been told to restore my Humax back to defaults and try again . FYI the Humax and Sharp are on different antenna.
Thanks for your help I will report back after work when I try the restore .Mike Jones: Can you post your postcode please? Mike JonesWednesday 12 August 2009 12:19PM

We have a Clarity CDVB1 digital terrestrial TV receiver, but now cannot receive ITV3 or ITV4 in spite of following on-screen instructions. HELP!!Des TaitMonday 9 November 2009 5:39PM
I have tried retuning several times and I can not get ITV4 from the Sutton Coldfield transmitter. I live in Derby and have no problem with the other channels. It is if S/C is not transmitting ITV4.Des Tait: Yes, ITV4 is on Multiplex D. Do you get other Mux D channels such as Film4? Wendyo8rabbitsSaturday 5 December 2009 1:34PM
Since analogue was dropped last week December 2009 - we can no longer receive ITV4. Is this permanent? We receive through Winter Hill transmitter. TVs are digital.Sam BoothenMonday 7 December 2009 11:59AM
Since the December 2 switchover at Winter Hill my Film 4/Music 4/ ITV signal quality has become very poor, signal strength is in the 70s but quality varies by the second from 5 to 60. What is going ON? All the other channels seem to have been boosted significantly and reception is great.Wendyo8rabbits: ITV4 is on Multiplex COM6, this is the lowest powered from Winter Hill, until September 2011. You may have, therefore 666 days without COM6. wendy08rabbitsMonday 21 December 2009 1:36PM
For Briantist re ITV4 - many thanks for your comments - we are counting down!!PeteMonday 21 December 2009 3:50PM
Wendy
You could buy a booster as ITV4 is still broadcasting with 2.5kW more than it was before switchover (12.5kW cf 10kW) albeit now well below the others (100kW).

I can receive evry channell on Freeview except ITV4. Is there a technical reason for this? I live in the Glasgow area.steveTuesday 25 May 2010 10:26AM

I am having trouble receiving ITV4 from Granada. I do not get a programme at all despite having an aerial recently installed.Ivor: It's a bit hard to say without a postcode, please use the box at the top right. JoanneFriday 22 October 2010 10:59PM
Preston I live in a pub in Preston and all 5 freeview TV's in the pub and the one upstairs in the flat used to have ITV4 and Film4 but they disappeared about 2 months ago and no matter how many times I have re -scanned each TV I can not pick those 2 channels up. Any suggestions?Joanne- COM6 is on low power from Winter Hill. this may be the reason, especially if all sets are fed from the same aerial.
Am not sure, but this will increase when the rest of the UK switches. Mike DimmickSaturday 23 October 2010 9:05PM
Reading Joanne: power-up is expected on 21 September 2011, the day that Sutton Coldfield switches over. It's restricted at the moment because Sutton Coldfield also uses C55 for low-power multiplex D.
However, you're close enough to Winter Hill that Digital UK predict a 100% probability of getting all multiplexes, now.
There are two possibilities. One, the aerial or cabling have deteriorated to the point that there isn't enough signal reaching each TV for this multiplex. Or two, the ongoing switchover, or just changes in weather conditions, has meant that the signal you receive from Winter Hill has actually increased and it's now too large.
If the signal strength (rather than quality) displayed on the TV for a channel on the SDN multiplex, e.g. ITV3, is over 50%, it's more likely to be too large. If you have Freeview HD equipment, check the signal strength on one of the HD channels. If you have an amplified splitter splitting the signal to the TVs, and it has a gain control, try turning it down. This won't help if the signal is being distorted by the amplifier, you'd need to put an attenuator in front of the amp to stop it being overdriven.
Generally it's best to split the signal as close to the aerial as possible, and to add a *small* amount of amplification here to offset the insertion loss of the splitter and the loss in the cables. If you have a lot of margin you can get away with splitting without an amplifier, but you probably don't have enough. If you split the signal at the back of one of the TVs, the signal is already significantly degraded and the amplifier can never recover what was lost.
If the signal strength is below 20-30% on the other channels, and below 15% on ITV4, then the aerial and cabling have probably weathered enough to no longer be providing enough signal for this multiplex. If the channel is not in the EPG at all, you may be able to get a reading by using the Manual Scan feature and selecting C55 (746 MHz or 746000 kHz) as the frequency to scan. How can I get ITV4 in Cumbria (LA9 4RT) for the Ashes highlights?! Gareth Thompson: If you can't get it now on Freeview, your best option is probably to add Freesat to your system.
Although you might be able to get Multiplex D from the Lancaster transmitter, you probably won't then be able to watch anything else. jeremy GavinsMonday 29 November 2010 10:31PM
I live in Cumbria LA12. I get all ITV 4 reception until 10 in the evening when I want to watch the Ashes highlights when it suddenly and mysteriously goes off, only to come back at 11 o'clock . What isd going on?jeremy GavinsMonday 29 November 2010 11:07PM
Ulverston Briantist I have checked that page and there is absolutely nothing interfering the signal I repeat at 10 o'clock I lost ITV4 and now it is 11.03 and I am watching the film Highlander in perfect vision. This has happened every night when the Ashes have been on. TOnight I found this website which is why I am asking the question now. Are Sky blocking the signal in the forlorn hope that I go and by their stuff?jeremy Gavins: Oh, right, you're watching on satellite? jeremy GavinsMonday 29 November 2010 11:32PM
Ulverston jeremy GavinsMonday 29 November 2010 11:33PM
Ulverston No, no satellite just an aerial which seems to work perfectly until the Ashes come on and then signal disappears. jeremy GavinsTuesday 30 November 2010 8:29AM
Ulverston well, forget what I said about Sky then, any other reason why this should happen. now its 8.24 and the Sint is on ITV4 perfect reception.
I am willing to bet that on the next Ashes test highlights program I will losew it again. I won't have long to wait 10 oclock friday night.jeremy GavinsTuesday 30 November 2010 4:23PM
Ulverston As far as I know only ITV4. I'll wait till friday night and see what happens. If it IS just the channels on Multiplex D what do I do about it?jeremy Gavins: Let's see what happens? jeremy GavinsFriday 3 December 2010 9:45PM
Ulverston signal gone at 9 45 along with all multiplex D so lovely that means I aagin can't watch the Ashes highlights at 10 on ITV4. Again I ask how do I get the signal back again.
The signal was perfect at 9.30jeremy Gavins: OK, the important point is the loss of the whole multiplex, and so the problem is not one specifically of ITV4.
There has to be something causing the problem at this specific time.
