Reading David: 5* and 5 USA are encrypted and require at least a 'Freesat from Sky' viewing card. If you have a Sky subscription and they don't appear in the EPG it may be that they're not available in Ireland.
You can try using Add Channels, but it probably won't work. Still, the details you need are: 12422 MHz, H polarization, 27500 baud FEC 2/3, and the stream IDs are 7710 (5 USA), 7711 (5 USA +1), 7715 (5*) and 7716 (5* +1).AnonymousSaturday 26 March 2011 3:13PM

I re-tuned my Freeview box (not Freeview plus) to get BBC Alba - but 5 USA and 5* have disappeared. I have re-tuned several times using automatic and manual search but they haven't tuned in.
Anyone help? CSI was my main viewing.

Coventry I have lost freeview channel 31, 5USA from the Sutton Coldfielg transmitter.
I've tried everything I can think of to reenable it, but no luck so far
has it been struck off for some reason due to the impending transfers?

We have freesat
we have the new channels on EPG but when we try to watch them there is nothing it says the signal is strong enough

This observation is posted in particular to Mr D Roberts who wrote on 13 March 2011.
The announcer is NOT inaudible on my TV. In fact when a programme has finished it is quite the reverse and he can be heard out on the street where I live he is so loud. It is quite disconcerting.

John D: The multiplex carrying these channels is temporarily on low power, until 27 June. (It's actually higher than it was before switchover started, but only 10% of the power level of the other channels.) That's because it hasn't yet moved to its final frequency. I'd expect the problem to be fixed when it moves to C42 on the 27th.
These problems usually occur when a receiver is desensitised by a strong signal on an adjacent channel. If you have a booster or other amplifier, try removing it. If not, or if that doesn't help, consider adding an attenuator.BrianTuesday 26 June 2012 7:57PM
Bridlington I have a digital tuner in my Panasonic VHS DVD combi recorder and my Sony Bravia TV can get channel 31 5USA and show it on the TV however when I set the recorder for C5USA although it shows it is recording when I try the play back it shows a blank screen with a white bar across it at the bottom and the words 5USA No Signal. Any ideas what I am doing wrong as it shows on the Bravia TV.
I triedan auto install of the channels on the recorder and the TV and both showed there was a channel 31 present but the recorder wont record 5USA.

I have just finished watching your transmission of the excellent Law and Order shown at 7 pm Wed. 13th March.

B White 5USA is on Freeview, Freesat, Virgin and Sky so I don't know why you have difficulty watching it. This site is just a forum where people who are having problems can ask for help but if you don't say how you are trying to watch 5USA its difficult to focus on what your problem might be. You don't say how netflix pesters you - is it emails or pop up ads or what? Again if you don't say no one can help.BrianBMonday 20 May 2013 7:59PM
