Norwich I am in NR9 5AL and I have a new aerial, a new set top box connected to an HD ready TV by HDMI connection. How do I know I am getting HD transmission? It tells me which channel is HD but NONE of those channels show in the guide?Mike DimmickSunday 7 November 2010 9:38PM
Reading Richard Woods: The Tacolneston transmitter doesn't yet broadcast HD services. It will start broadcasting HD from 23 November 2011, i.e. about this time next year.
In an area that broadcasts HD, the HD channels can be found at numbers 50 to 54.Stuart O.Thursday 17 March 2011 10:46PM
Wrexham Hi.
I found I am receiving a weak analogue Channel 4 signal on UHF ch. 63, but this map doesn't appear to show any analogue Channel 4's in the area.
I thought it would be a relay of Sutton Coldfield, but none of it's relays appear to transmit 4 on 63. Any idea where could it be from?
Thanks.Mike DimmickFriday 18 March 2011 2:32PM
Stuart O.: Sometimes the map doesn't show all the pins, particularly if you're using Internet Explorer, but in this case, I can only find one site that ever used C63 for Channel 4 - Glenridding in the Lake District. This switched over in July 2009 and no longer uses this frequency.
I searched the list at

The only things I can think of are that it's the RF output of a Sky or Freeview set-top box (yours or perhaps a neighbours, if you're sharing an aerial), or if you're using a communal system, a system where the channels are transposed to different frequencies. This is usually done if the signals from the transmitters are strong enough to be picked up directly by cables within the flat, which then arrive at different times from the signals received at the aerial, causing ghosting on analogue (and, likely, errors on digital).
If your TV, aerials or cables are very close to a neighbour's equipment, and that equipment isn't well shielded, it could be picking up a tuned version - but you'd expect it to change which channel is displayed when they choose a different channel! (RG47SH) James HalpinSunday 20 May 2012 7:48AM
Haverhill We are on the Sudbury transmitter and do not receive ch 63. I believe this is due to very low transmission power and that there are plans to increase this soon. Could you please tell me when this is due to happen so that I can re-tune.

James Halpin: I believe that this action is programmed for June 27th.
