Channel 59 (BBC4, BBC parliament, etc.) from the Hemel Hempstead transmitter has been corrupt on sound and vision for several days, even though the signal strength is the usual 60% which normally gives 100% reception.
Will this be fixed soon?

Report this messageOur Freeview digital reception is lousy in postcode area SK10 5LY, serviced by the Winterhill transmitter, for ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4. Channels 4 and 5 are also very poor. Reception was very good until a few weeks agao. What is going on please? When will we see an improvement?

Report this messageDespite frequent retuning of my Humax-F2 FoxT set top box, the signal strenght post switch-over (as registered by the stb) has degenerated to such a poor state the picture is unwatchable on Granada ITV1 . There were no problems prior to the switch-over for this area served by Winter Hill. Channel4 is 'blocky' but BBC1/2 and C5 seem OK. Is there a work round for ITV1- I need a solution before xmas

Report this messageCan I add my comments that scince the change over I have to retune various TV/Recorders frequently and one every day. Also on a retune it frequently picks up Welsh channels even though the signal strength is poor. Pixalisation etc was there before the change over but not loss of channels. The worst is channel 59. I also wonder if the equipment's processor/memory is capable of handling the capactity?

Report this messagehi, thanks briantist..i have looked and its mux 2 it seems..single channel interference..however, i haven't a clue how to fix this....we alreay have a booster and amplifier and wideband aerial..also the signal on other channels has reduced in some instances by a little bit
however, main prob is mux 2 which covers itv 1 , e4 , ch4 etc.....
guess i will just have to wait for the installation company to take a look but they have said could be a week or two....

Report this messagethank you..thing is the amplifier is to help boost the signal..its not a stereo amp for a stereo or something..its actually to amplify the signal from aerial
all was perfect until yesterday so am wondering if perhaps the severe heat then colder weather has damaged the aerial cables?

Report this messagethank you briantist...have no idea what to do really the cable to the tv and amp seems fine...am bit perplexed.. we need the amp to actually get the signal as previously there was no reception in the living room so am reluctant to take this off as may damage something and the engineer may then refuse to check it out you see.
thanks though

Report this messageTim: You might be overloading the box with too much signal. First check
Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice - if everything seems OK there, remove any boosters or amplifiers from your system.
If you still don't have a stable multiplex PSB2 signal, you will need to fit an attenuator. These cost around a fiver.
