Northwich I live in Cheshire (CW8 4RU) and have always received BBC1 from Winter Hill (North West). Now I suddenly find I am getting BBC 1 Midlands. WHY?
I'm guessing it impacts everything in MUX1. I receive all of the other MUX groupings from Winter Hill.Cyril Eaton: If you can receive more than one version of a channel, the duplicates are in the 800-899 channel range. Your box will show all the versions it can receive. C

All well and good Briantist, but I aren't getting anything in the 800 series and, if I read this right I should get the MUX1 Group on Channel 56, I don't I get MUXAA

All channels work after switchover at Whitehawk except Ch 56/754 MHz. All programs within this group such as Sky news cannot be found. Signal strength is shown as around 8 on scale of 10. Signal quality is 0. Manual Tuning achieves nothing. Any suggestion. The site is a comunual aerial installation. The aerial is on top of a 17 story block and points directly at Whitehawk.A

Dunstable Graham:
I suspect the communal system is blocking CH56. The other Mux's (except the HD one) were in use prior to switchover, Ch56 is the only new frequency. Is it possible to check with other users of the communal system to see if they are having the same problem?
Hope this helps,
Adam.G

Thank you. You have almost confirmed my suspicions. There was a new mux and aerial installed some three years ago so as prempt any problems with the switchover. The fact that you have identified the fact that ch 56 has not been used until now may well have a significant bearing on the scene. Early next week I shall contact the installers to ask them to come out and check their equipment. Yes there are others with the same problem as well. A lot of residents use cable so its difficult to filter. I have not checked the HD channel. In fact I have not established if Whitehawk are transmiting HD. I suppose they should be. Will have to check. Will advise outcome in due course.G

Adam,
The techies came in today and low and behold both missing chanels (56 and 51 HD) now up and running. Not sure what they did yet as I am not on the site but I hope to find out soon.
Obviously the distribution set up in the block was the problem.A

Glad all is working OK for you now!
Cheers,
Adam.I receive my TV reception from Mendip. The TV has retuned (27th March) but the HDD tuner has now lost BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4 and respective HD channels!! I have not been able to receive Channel 5 on the HDD tuners for a long time. I live directly beneath the Mendip transmitter in Wells. Am I suffering from overload? Paul Hobbs: Channel 5 HD does not broadcast on Freeview and isn't likely to do so in the immediate future.
Try a manual tune on UHF channel 58. If there is an option to select mode on the manual tune screen (DVB-T or DVB-T2) then select the latter for the HD channel. Standard definition broadcasts in the UK use the former. Dave, Thanks for that but nothing showing on Ch58. Strange that ALL the channels are present on the TV. I have always had a problem with missing channels on the HDD on retunes! It looks more and more like the HDD tuners suffer from overload! Paul Hobbs: Try something to reduce the level of signal. For example, a set-top aerial, a piece of wire in the centre part of the aerial socket or connecting only the centre conductor from the aerial lead into the receiver.
A more permanent solution, if this is too much signal level, is to install an attenuator.
