Hello
Location : Bridgend, South Wales
Problem : On Monday 12th October 2009 at about 9 am all my PVRs ( 4 ) stopped updating the programme information on all channels being received on MUX D from Wenvoe. The EPG is unaffected and all other MUXs show the correct and current information.
Because of this situation, I cannot do any timer recordings for MUX D programmes because the PVRs need the current programme information to match the EPG.
It's not the signal strength as I'm using 2 different aerial systems and the signal strength is displayed as ` very good ' - C46. I've never had any previous problems and reception in this area is very good.
In a vein attempt to solve the problem I bought a new Hitachi PVR today ( 14th ) but it was exactly the same. How on earth does a brand new machine display programme information from 2 days ago ?. It can only be that it's sent with the carrier signal, how is this possible ?.
With all my PVRs I've tried the Factory reset without the aerial connected, etc, etc, several times but still all MUX D programmes keep coming up with the same programme information ( Now and Next ) from days ago.
I've contacted UK Digital, but no explanation was forthcoming.
This is more than a minor irritation as most of my daily programming are programmes from MUX D.
Can anybody offer an explantion, any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks.A

It seems that South Wales has been badly served by the digital switchover and it has proved a step backward in TV innovation. Many of the Freeview channels are unavaible or suffer from poor reception. I have been advising friends to switch to Sky.M

Lynda, you can suggest your friends consider FreeSat instead. Like Freeview, it is subscription-free.L

I think the answer lies in a satellite transmitter, whether Sky or FreeSat. My Freeview is still hit and miss but mostly miss. I have 8 channels and only 6 of those are watchable most of the time.C

Burton-on-trent I have recently retuned my kitchen tv downstairs and lost MULTIPLEX 2, itv, Channel 4 & CHANNEL 5 ETC.
I still get all them on my upstairs tv in the bedroom after retune. Both are Tevions with built in freeview.
Any suggestions?J

Craig: Sutton Coldfield appears to be your main station as as such there is no external reason why this should have happened, I therefore suggest that you carry out a reset on your TV / box followed by another auto tune, if this still doesn't work then "if" at all possible I would try taking your kitchen TV upstairs and carrying out another auto tune with it connected into the upstairs aerial.
