Living in Gloucester I have two aerials.
The big one points toward the mendip the old small one points to ridge hill.
I can only get a few programmes ie Sky News;Dave, Sky 3.
Will the wide band aerials needed get smaller and cheaper nearer the day.
Looking around at the great big new digital square aerials going up takes me back to the 50's with great big H shaped aerials.
Come on sort it out and design a little aerial you can stick on your window.
Aerial installers must think it's Xmas..

Dave Pillage: Wideband aerials can be of any size, they simply do not block any TV frequencies. Furkin: This will be the case until 30 September 2009. There is little point worrying about the duplicate, as you have one on multiplex PSB3/BBCB and the old one on Multiplex A.

On 30 September FIVE will move to multiplex PSB2 (D3+4). See www.ukfree.tv link icon What is behind the Freeview retune? | ukfree.tv - independent digital television and switchover advice, since 2002 for more.

Hello - I wonder if you have any ideas on my recent problem which is that all programs I can get on ARQA channel now have broken or interrupted sound ON OFF ON OFF ON OFF about every one second - picture is OK.

The channels appear to be only those on ARQA / COM5. I'm in south Birmingham and only receive Sutton Coldfield. I had a a new digital aerial earlier this year and have no pre-amp fitted. Signal strength is good.

Reception was good after Sept c/o until recently. I have retuned channels again and this has made no difference.

Just searching for answers as I have the same problems on Channel 45 chopped sound on off on off like the old norman collier comedy routine have tried re tuning a number of times all other channels ok and picture is perfect however on the same aeriel with a newer set the problems is not there the problem set is an older Toshiba does anyone know if the digital decoder for an older set would be the cause seems a pity to ditch the set for sound on one channel only any help would be appreciated.

graham k: We have had a number of reports of issues with this multiplex from Sutton Coldfield. A few hours ago some people posted to say that the fault with the transmitter has been fixed:

I live in Leamington Spa and get signal on Channel 45 from Sutton Coldfield. I have a brand new Sharp TV with built in Freeview but Channel 45 went missing last week and after a complete wipe and re- tune all Channel 45 programmes have very poor reception with lots of pixelation and sound chopping in and out. Is anyone else suffering similar issues?
