Please help me as my sister bought a new TV with freeview in it. We have had 4 different people out to try to get it working, 2 from the TV shop and 2 from the arial place where we bought a Digital one from. This last guy said it is impossible to get freeview here as there is no digital signal only analog.
My sister's postal code is CH43 7YQ.
Has she wasted all that money for nothing as the guy in the TV shop said we could get freeview, no problem.
Thank you in advance
Sheila Bond I live on the Wirral ( CH49-3NP)
I get perfect reception from Winter Hill and all on a 20 year old aerial, that cost about £2.50.The BACK of the aerial will give me reasonable reception from Moel-y-parc. So the question:- MUX C is on Ch60, why can I pick up the identical transmission on Ch43 and an identical transmission of MUX D - Ch 63 on Ch 40 ?
I don't think its a quirk on one tuner.
Neighbours experience the same thing.
After a first tune up on a new box, the EPG shows innumerable channel duplications.
Cannot see on the aerial maps any reference to Ch 40 & 43 covering the Wirral. Any info please.
Regards

Stuart: You should check to ensure that the TV with the problem is actually receiving from Sutton Coldfield and not Waltham, as its indicated as being possible at your location, the way to tell being to select EPG 1 (BBC) and go into the signal check menu and observe the Mux channel number shown, which if Ch43 is indeed Sutton
whereas if Ch61 is Waltham, you could check ITV as well whilst you are at it, Sutton being Ch46 and Waltham Ch54.
If though EPG1 has vanished from the list then carry out a factory re-set followed by a re-scan and see what the results are.

Barnsley Hi
Does anyone know the frequency numbers for BBC1 Look North (Leeds) and ITV1 Yorkshire televison as we are picking up the Newcastle channels on our freeview recorder. The TV is ok.
Many Thanks
Angelina: From Emley Moor, BBC is on C47 and ITV1, C4 etc on C44.
You will be picking up BBC North East/Tyne Tees from Bilsdale which is on C26 and C29. You may also pick up Belmont which primarily serves East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire but has considerable overlap to South Yorkshire and beyond. It uses C22 and C25 for BBC and ITV respectively.
As Emley Moor uses higher channels, just unplug the aerial lead for the first 30%. This will miss out scanning of channels in the 20s.
However, other channels from Bilsdale and Belmont are in the 40s, 50s and 60s.
Once you have it tuned, check that all are tuned correctly to Emley Moor:
PSB1 | BBC One | C47
PSB2 | ITV1 | C44
PSB3 | BBC One HD | C41
COM4 | ITV3 | C51
COM5 | Pick TV | C52
COM6 | Film4 | C48
