My freeview signal for ITV 2 and ITV 3 on Freeview from Redruth has recently disappeared. There is a signal but no information.

Could you give me a reason for this please? (map)

I live in Milton Keynes and I have not been able to pick up channel 42 transmissions from Sandy Heath since around 18:30 on 2nd October. BBC 1 faded out whilst we were watching it - Re-running auto set up does not find BBC1, BBC2 and BBC3. I have not had a problem prior to this and all other channels seem o.k.
Any ideas?

Hi, we are having problems picking up Setanta sports, channel 5 etc which I think are broadcast on C42. Postcode is TN11 9DU. We have 2 freeview boxes, connected to the same ariel, one can find them but it doesn't have a card slot which we obviously need for Setanta! The seond box was bought specifically for watching football by my 13yo son with his birthday money! Any suggestions gratefully received. Liz. (map)

Briantist. Thanks for your reply. I've read the link and its possible that a neighbouring transmietter is interfering with our signal. (Bluebell Hill C42 transmitting Mux C is more powerful than TWells C42 Mux A - which is what I'm missing). I guess a bigger/better ariel may help? However I still don't understand how one freeview box can pick up the channels but the other can't. Any other suggestions. Thanks. Liz. (map)

Hi Liz, To check if it is the aerial feed & not the box you could swap locations if the problem moves with the box then its the box but if the satanta works at the other location then it is the aerial feed to that location. Aerials for digital dont like being split, are you using a splitter or a plug in (to the electric !) 2 way amp ?Mark Aberfan Aerials

Hi Mark. Thanks for that, we have already tried swapping the cables from the old box that picks up setanta and have even taken that box out of the loop completely to elimiate problems with signal degradation because of the split. We have also had the box replaced (with the same model) by Comet where we bought it. My conclusion (bare in mind I know NOTHING about how a freeview box works!) is that our old box copes better with the interfering Bluebell Hill signal on C42 (supplying MuxC). Is it possible that our new box finds MuxC on C39 from Tunbridge Wells, then when it gets to C42 has the TWells signal (supplying MuxA) "overriden" by the BHill signal - MuxC which it has already found. Thats probably total rubbish but I'm a layman and it seemed like a logical argument after 6 hours pulling cables in and out! I think our next step is to try a different make of box with a card slot. Thanks again. Liz. (map)

I live in peterborough, I have 2 aerials, one pointed to sandy heath and the other pointed to waltham, the problem I have is MUX 1 on sandy heath and MUX D on waltham have the same frequency (642.0MHz) I want to use mux 1(BBC East) on sandy because I ususally watch regional news but my digital box cannot pick it up, it picks up mux 1 on waltham instead (BBC East Midlands), I dont want the hassle of calling an installer or anything so how do fix this?
