We have recently bought a hdtv with built in digi box, plus had a new digital arial installed. However, we dont seem to be able to recieve all channels. We do however live very close to a large amount of trees. Will this have something to do with the reception, and what can be done about it? it is definately not the tv that is brokenMr Housman: TV signals do not pass though trees when they are in leaf. The trees act as an aerial and drag the signal from the airways! Use a long pole to get a line-of-sight from transmitter to reception aerial! M

Motherwell I have had a Freeview box for several years now and have not had that many problems with it but a few days ago we have lost all the MUX1 channels i.e. BBC1, BBC2, ..... and not matter what I do to search for them again they do not appear.
We are served by the Black Hill transmitter and the current MUX1 signal says maximum strength.
Any ideas ?C

Shifnal I have a Goodmans Freeview box with a Hard Drive, it works the same as a Sky+ box. On Sunday 16th Nov we had problems with receiving BBC Channels I did a automatic channel scan that produced the BBC Channels but now I have lost all of ITV and C4. I have recording programmed in for these missing channels and they are recording but we just cannot watch them. I know that I can manually input channels but I cannot find the tunning numbers for Sutton Coldfield to input against the channels on the box. Can anyone helpC

Shifnal I have now figured out that the channels that are missing are Mux 2, would the best bet be to reboot the system and do a 'first time install' or just do a manual input, in which case which channel is it for Sutton Coldfield 44 or 46?
ThanksCarolyn Stokes: Does the recorder have two aerial input connections? If so, what happens when you swap them over? M

Dinas Powys I live within three miles of the Wenvoe transmitter. My new Sony DVD recorder updates every night for the EPG and always retunes to Mendips, my three TVs are all tuned to Wenvoe and we have a signal strength of 10. I've contacted Sony and they can't explain why this is happening. Have you any advice on what I can do, as it is very tedious retuning every day.T

Pontyclun I live in Llanharan and watch ordinary freeview via my roof top aerial (tuned into the Wenvoe transmitter)and a digital hard drive recorder. I Also have sky freeview via sky satellite dish. Over the last month my reception on the freeview channel from the roof-top aerial is very poor, somedays i can't even get the main bbc & ITV channels. Can any one please try and explain why this is, i've done the obvious checks & retuned a number of times but it makes no difference. D

Colchester I have just got a Bush Digibox for a TV in my kitchen. I have installed it and it picks up the BBC channels but none of the ITV or C4. The T.V in the lounge is already digital and free veiw and it picks up all the channels and is on the same aerial.Dave: I would start by checking the cable between the existing working TV and the kitchen, it seems quite possible it has sustained some damage and may need replacement. Knaresborough Is it me, am I doing something wrong (probbably) or is the HD service from Emley Moor not broadcasting? Have tried manual and Automatic tuning on Polaroid TV, Logik TV and Humax Recorder and none of them will pick up HD chanels.J

Martin: Although its not impossible for a problem to be presently in existence at the transmitter, are you positive that the devices mentioned are actually capable of HD reception? that meaning they are equipped with DVB-T2 tuners.
What model of Humax box are you referring to?

Huddersfield Hi
Have had satellite dish for 9 years as the valley we're in near huddersfield didn't have reception.
Sky is v expensive and I'd like to change to freeviw. Is this easy to do?J

Loges: You are indicated as being located at only 4 miles away from the high powered Emley Moor transmitter so in theory the signal should be very strong even if using a set top aerial, however going by what you have said about the past I suggest that for a test you try and borrow a Freeview box, coupling it into your TV via a scart lead, and should you not be able to borrow a set top aerial then even a short piece of wire (about 12") pushed into the inner part of the aerial socket on the box should be suffice for reception in your circumstances. Oxford Hi. I'm having reception problems with 5*, 5+1 and ITV3, and I'm going to assume with the other channels on the SDN multiplex. A couple of weeks ago, it was barely noticeable. Now, it's dreadful and often cuts out completely. I'm in Oxford. I also only moved in two months ago, so I don't know whether this is a new problem. Can you advise me? Thanks.
