Is your main aerial polarised horizontally or vertically loft or externally mounted,and is it also a group A aerial (tipped red) or a group W wideband aerial (tipped black).
One possibility could be that the aerial co-ax cable needs replacing if it is rather old as HD broadcasts do give somewhat poor performance on old co-ax aerial cable.

I've always had good reception from Rowridge for the Yesterday channel, film4 etc. until the latest retuning!
Now get blochy/bad signals, one set top box will not even try to tune in this set of channels.
I notice that the signal is very weak compared to others WHY? I understood that with all this retuning the signal strength would INCREASE, hence BETTER reception, why is this not the case?Ray PearsonSunday 20 May 2012 10:40AM

The mast located on Capel Brithdir which is near Rhymney. What is the average amount of homes that it cover, and with a switch over, are these masts going to be taken down, or stay as a wavelength stronger point, which in that Case, in the property where the mast is located there's several ther masts there which is smaller what is best described as aria.s, are they a Emergency service aerial which Wenvoe operates, Thank youm g hunterFriday 5 October 2012 7:18PM
we are experiencing a sudden loss of channels in the Mevagissey area and wonder if our transmissions are coming from another transmitter, can you suggest why this is happening please?m g hunter: A common reason for a relay transmitter going off the air is because of a power failure. It wouldn't be expected to be engineering work at this time.
If you receive your TV from the Mevagissey relay, then there may be clues of the power failure. Burglar alarms on properties that are also affected may be sounding. The Mevagissey site is also home to base stations for four GSM mobile phone networks and 3's 3G network, so if you have no or much lower than normal signal then they too will be likely off the air. steveSaturday 3 November 2012 10:14PM

i am with bt now and our hd channels keep breaking up i was told that it was the dover transmitter and i was getting the signal from somewhere else is this true and how can i get the hd channels without them breaking up please
