How can I get Channel 5 on Sky in Ireland?
You can watch Channel 5 (plus 5USA, 5* and the +1s) by manually adding the channel, as it is broadcast free-to-air.
Use the following settings:
Frequency: 10773 10964
Polarisation: Horizontal
Symbol rate (Mbaud): 22.0
FEC: 5/6

Today I just got some audio, no image, and when I input all the new codes and search I just get "No channel found".

Fareham I live near fareham hants and have sky HD box, which we use the RF out to distibute a TV signal, including sky around the house, including to the main tv.
The main TV is a LG plasma and when it is switched off we can get all freeview channels around the various tvs in the house. It must be noted that the freeview stations on Channel 28 appear to have a weak signal compared to the other channels, around 60%.
When we switch on the plasma tv we lose all stations transmitted on channel 28. The freeview boxes say there is no signal.
We have put the problem down to 2 issues
a/ the palsma tv interferes with the tv signal
b/ the channel 28 signal is not strong enough to deal with any interference M

Frequencies have changed recently, and some Sky users who "have" Freesat viewing cards, may have found that they now get the message "NO SATELLITE SIGNAL". If this is the case, unplug the digibox from the mains, wait 2 minutes then re-plug, everything should be back to normal.
If you do "not" have a viewing card you can select Channel 5 by doing the following:
Press SERVICES on your remote control
Select (4) SYSTEM SET UP
Select (4) ADD CHANNELS
Change the frequency to 10.773
Change the POLARISATION from　V to H
Change the SYMBOL RATE to 22.0
Change the FEC to 5/6
then select FIND CHANNELS
When the new channels are found, highlight FIVE, press the Yellow button then press the SKY button.
To watch channel 5, select SERVICES, then 6 OTHER CHANNELS then select FIVE

The new details given below has been taken from a Freesat TV whilst on channel 5 and tested out on my own Sky box after having been stored in the "other channels" menu, the info providing giving access to Channel 5 / 5 USA / 5* / 5*+1, and by the way were also tested as being OK whilst the card was removed from the box.
Press SERVICES on your remote control
Select (4) SYSTEM SET UP
Select (4) ADD CHANNELS
FREQUENCY : punch in 10.964
POLARISATION - H
SYMBOL RATE - 22.0
FEC - 5/6
then select FIND CHANNELS
When the new channels are found, highlight FIVE (or more) by pressing the Yellow button then press "select" to continue.
To watch channel 5 etc select SERVICES, then OTHER CHANNELS then select the channel required.

Thank you.Catherine Burns: In your general area it would appear to be variable as to what can and can't be received. As a result, my answer is somewhat open.
If you can receive analogue from the Republic, then you will be expected to be able to receive Saorview afterwards, if indeed you can't receive it now.
On the B53 which is adjacent to Lough Melvin and I gather you are in this area.
I looked at Streetview and some houses have two aerials; one on the local Gortnalee relay transmitter (aerials vertical) and one horizontally polarised and pointing in the opposite direction to Gortnalee. By my reckoning the latters are pointing to Truskmore whose digital (Saorview) signal will increase in strength on Wednesday.
For reception of Saorview you will need a Freeview HD receiver.
It would appear (bearing in mind that I don't have local knowledge and am relying on online sources) that you will be limited to the Public Service Freeview channels. This is because Gortnalee will only carry them which are BBC standard definition and high definition, BBC radio, UTV, UTV+1, UTVHD, ITV2, Channel 4, Channel 4+1, Channel 4HD, E4, More4 and Channel 5.
Only main transmitters carry the Commercial channels like Film4 and Dave but due to what I gather is the low-lying land you live on it is doubtful that you will be able to receive from one of these transmitters which are Limavady and Brougher Mountain. Catherine Burns: If you don't receive analogue from the Republic now and this is because you don't have an aerial on one of its transmitters, then you will of course need to get one installed (assuming that at your exact location reception is possible).
If you have a single aerial on Gortnalee then you will receive only Freeview Public Service channels, as explained above. Gortnalee will not broadcast RTÉ, TV3 or TG4.
Due to the channels used by Gortnalee and Truskmore it will be possible to combine the feeds from two aerials into one downlead using a suitable diplexer. This will allow reception of signals from both transmitters on the same receiver(s). G

I do know that the channels have moved to Astra2F however I am being told that a) 5HD is still on and b) some folk have lost ITV but get ITV+1 ?????

If these settings still fail to work then disconnect the box from the power supply then reconnect it again after about 30 secs or so and let it go through the usual searching for listings procedure before trying to add anything.
Before trying that though carry out a signal test to make sure that the minimum of 60% (or equivalent of) is indicated on the strength / quality bar.
