You can get all BBC/ITV channels via Astra at 28.2deg east, best use a free to air satellite rec. as this will tune in all channels. Using a Sky box is a bit long winded as you have to enter each channel freq. etc. manually.

Briantist
Tuesday 5 October 2010 8:55AM
JIMBO: You need a Freesat from Sky card, or an expired subscription card to view FIVER and FIVE USA on Freesat from Sky.

If you have one of these, do this - www.ukfree.tv link icon What can my do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

How come Five (soon to be Channel 5 again) have both free-to-air on 10773 H 22 5/6 and encrypted versions? How many flavour of Five are their in total? Is there/will there be a Five +1?
Briantist
Monday 24 January 2011 8:27AM
Félim Doyle: Please see the www.ukfree.tv link icon ITV1+1 11 January 2011 (at last) | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page for details of the version of Channel 5.

Channel 5 only has three Freeview slots, it might happen that Fiver or Five USA becomes Channel 5+1.

I have entered the frequencies for channel 5 in a Sky HD box 10773 H 22000 5/6 and when you try to view in other channels, it says insert viewing card, this is the newer version of Sky HD box, this worked fine on old Sky digibox and also old version of HD box, has something changed.

Wednesday 22 June 2011 11:59AM Haywards Heath
John Kerr:

Channel 5 HD is encrypted, so you can't view it with Freesat.
Hopefully one day it won't be encrypted, but then Sky would lose some more customers.

P.S.
Channel 5 standard-definition channel is not encrypted, so you should be able to view that.

Polarisation; Horizontal
Symbol rate (Mbaud); 22.0
FEC; 5/6

I have Sky, and I have channel five, but I've been told that most BB related shows will be shown on channel 5*, which is also available on Sky only to be tuned in. How do I tune in '5*' or 'five star' as it's often referred to as? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Briantist
Thursday 18 August 2011 8:44AM
Orla: All Celebrity Big Brother programmes are on the main channel. You can't watch 5* as it is not free-to-air.

Briantist
