How do I receive all of uktv+ channels (gold, style, food etc) using my Freeview/ONdigital box?
The only "UK" channels on Freeview are "UK Home Style" and "UK History". These are free-to-air channels and require no subscription.
The other UK channels are subscription channels and can be watched via Sky or cable.

Comment about the FAQ "How do I receive all of uktv+ channels".
Most of the old OnDigital boxes had a CAM slot, also a few FreeView boxes do.
Gold and possibly 1 or 2 more can be accessed by TopUp TV (i.e. FreeView premium channels / chargeable).
I believe a few FreeView boxes will show "TopUp TV" channels as locked. When you purchase a serial number you can unlock them, but the "serial number service" is not too reliable from recollection.
I personaly am not happy with the "TopUp TV" service that I received.

Can you get Hallmark channel on free satalite tv. Thank youMike DimmickFriday 18 June 2010 10:58PM
Reading A Hodgson: because Sky have a contract with those channels so they only go out encrypted. Unfortunately the channel selection on Freesat isn't very good because of these pre-existing contracts.A hodgson: The contracts that uktv and Virgin have with Sky do not allow them to broadcast free-to-air channels. andyMonday 12 July 2010 10:59PM

Malvern BBC reception is intermittent for both TV & Radio. I am currently using the Sutton Colefield transmitter. Does my aerial need upgrading?paulSunday 20 November 2011 8:53PM
hi im paul. ive got freeview & all i want is channle gold. please help me how to unblock. thanks .
Ed MyerMonday 28 November 2011 5:00PM
Chippenham paul: Gold is part of Sky, you have to pay a fee to receive it.
EdEd Myer: Actually, there is a limited transmission of G.O.L.D as part of the legacy to Top-up TV subscribers. This has been cut back now to a daytime service due to the launch of Channel 5 +1. Brian MaddenThursday 12 January 2012 4:57PM
Hove I have a SKY+ box . I have no problem with SKY reception. When I tune my TV for Digital channels I receive about 50% of the Channels. I can get CBeebies and BBC parliament BBC4 but I cannot get BBC1 and 2. I can get these channels through SKY TV. Previously I was able to get these channels which allowed us to watch SKY channels on one TV and BBC etc on another TV in an adjacent room.
Can you help?.My aerial is outside on the side of my housealanSunday 12 February 2012 11:41PM
I have bought a secondhand sky+ box with the intension of recording the free to air channels, ofcourse the stupid thing is locked. I can't believe no one has sorted out how to bypass the sky part, afterall its only a hard drive ??? can anybody HELP.jb38Monday 13 February 2012 5:21PM
alan: Although the hard drive contained within the unit might only be exactly that, its the software and circuitry associated with the control of same that to my knowledge no one has ever been able to crack, basically because of anything remotely associated with the access codes used in a Sky box having an unbelievably high level of security attached to it, equally on par with a bank if not even more so!
This was also in evidence in the circuit diagrams that were published for Sky boxes, as blank sections were seen in any of the parts of the circuitry referred to, this whereby a multitude of connecting wires came in effect to an abrupt end.
Mike DimmickMonday 13 February 2012 5:58PM
alan: Sell it on and get a Freesat+ box. Sky want money to enable recording, even of free-to-air transmissions. This unwanted feature is built in to their firmware.
It appears that some Sky boxes could have different firmware loaded - see
http://www.steves-homepag…3159 for an example. However, since that involves soldering cables onto the circuit board to use the external firmware-loading circuitry (JTAG), it's really only for the serious, dedicated enthusiast - and you still have to find someone who's bypassed it for your specific model of box.
