Do the people at Eurosport read this forum? I hope so. I like many would love to se them move over to freeview and I also think they would benefit from the move due to them ,potentially, being the only major sport channel on freeview..what a coup!michael pellosTuesday 20 May 2008 10:08AM
hi my name is pello in kenya africa, i am askin is it possible to get free channel sky channel if i have eurosat reciever and no sky digital box and cardmichael pellos: No, you cannot receive the singal in Kenya. Alan WittsMonday 23 June 2008 5:20PM
I live in Switzerland and have a Topfield HD satellite receiver connected to a 90cm dish. I am tuned to Astra 2 and Eurobird 1. I get all BBC/ITV channels including BBC HD. I can add satellites and want to know whether i can add FreeSat to my receiver, i believe it transmits from Astra 2d. If i do receive Freesat will i be able to get ITV HD OR do i need a specific FreeSat Receiver. Thanks Al.DonMonday 23 June 2008 5:43PM
I have a friend in kandersteg that want's me to fit freesat. according to astra's diagrams they will need a very large dish to pick up the BBC channels.
are you in the same region as kandersteg?DonMonday 23 June 2008 5:46PM
There seems to be no BBC south or ITV Meridian on Freesat HD. Is this an upgrade that is coming?Alan WittsMonday 23 June 2008 5:51PM
Don, No i am in French part of Switzerland close to GenevaDon: Yes, this should be sorted very, very soon. From what I understand, as long as you have entered your correct postcode you should get the correct ITV1 and BBC one variant automatically. Don: The Astra 2D satelite is designed for UK domestic reception primarily. You do need a large dish outside the main area! doutrelugneFriday 18 July 2008 7:49AM
If I wanted, hypothetically, to get freesat from Spain, what size dish would I need, type of LNB? and other technical data? Let's assume I would already posses a freesat decoder.......Fraser LintonSunday 24 August 2008 4:51PM
Coalville Q. I have just had a digital aerial fitted on my roof, owever i now receive LOOk North regional news instead of East MidlandspeterSunday 24 August 2008 7:26PM
Why a 'digital' aerial?steve, bedworthThursday 4 September 2008 4:06PM
Michael, Interestingly I had a call from a sky representative last night, offering me a deal on free sky + box and a tv mix etc for 17 quid. He then aked me why I had stopped my subscriptions. He was taken aback at how informed I was on ALL deals every company was offering. He then told me I could use my sky box for free viewing. I then laid into him about how was it right that murdoch could charge me to get a card which would enable me to watch dave etc while in reality these channels were free on freeview? he could not answer me, but agreed with me..steve, bedworth: Sky are determined to up the number of subscribers it seems! steve, bedworthFriday 5 September 2008 11:57AM
well it was not the usual call brian, this one was like market research, asking me what it would take to get me back on board.
Don't be surprised if murdoch comes up with a lot of cover all options in the future.steve, bedworth: No reputable "market research" company would actually offer you a deal. Michal: I'll see what I can do! Roger Martlew: That service is not a legal one, this site only covers legal services. Dean EnsorWednesday 1 October 2008 4:54PM
I think Eurosport should go free on Freeview once space becomes available after switchover channel 15 on Freeview is still spare after abc went I though Virgin would use it to go 24 hours on Freeview but no news still so their is limited space legal of course another sugestion would be to launch a highlight free to air channel but KEEP LIVE ON SUBSCRIPTION GOOD IDEA EH Do you know eurosport address I ve put that idea to Setanta not holding out much hope eh ch4 and five should launch a free to air sports channel team up with someone ehDean Ensor: You seem to have got the logical channel numbers mixed up with multiplex capacity! PeanutSaturday 1 November 2008 5:09PM
Scunthorpe You can also get British Euro Sport Through Top Up TvPeanut: No for free, of course. AdrianSunday 21 December 2008 4:47AM
If I buy a any freewiew box can I get British Eurosport or do I have to buy a particular box with a card slot or pay via a telephone connection.Iain PalmerSunday 4 January 2009 11:48AM
I live in a conservation village and cannot get a satellite signal with a ground based dish, (planning only allows ground based dishes). Can I get Eurosport UK without a satellite system.Iain Palmer: No, sorry you can't. MichaelMonday 12 January 2009 4:02AM
Quote British Eurosport is part of the Sky "Family Pack" (£18.50 per month), the ntl: "Base Pack" (£18 per month) and Telewest "Essential Package" (£18.50 a month)
Call that competition?
They are all charging about the same price?
What does Virgin Charge?Michael: They are a little out of date, they charge more now! ToniSaturday 17 January 2009 10:52AM
I live in Northern Italy and access Astra2 via sat dish/free to air receiver (Strong). When installed, I was able to enjoy the free-to-air English channels with fairly good quality of audio and visual--but, a few months ago ITV3 began to be poorly received. Scrambling parts of the visual and audio "chatter". In normal weather, the other Brit. channels are fine. Only ITV3 is impossible to watch--and it is of course, my favorite. Surveying friends with Astra2, no one else has this problem.Any suggestions?MJ RaySaturday 14 February 2009 5:46PM
Why is Eurosport (German) FREE DIGITAL at 19.2e not listed in the answer to this question? OK, it needs you to move your dish, but it's pretty easy to DIY.
MichaelMonday 16 February 2009 3:45AM
If these prices are the same then it means the Competition Commission are also a failure.
What actually happened to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission?Craig MurisonMonday 16 February 2009 6:04PM
The Commetition Commission is acully the Monopolies and Mergers Commision its just that the name was changed.MichaelThursday 19 February 2009 2:13AM
My Poem
Read the paper "Page one"
Digital Britain "Not on"
Analogue TV "So Long"
End of an era "Same old song"
Free TV "Fairwell"
People being ripped off "Same old hell"
Rupert Murdoch "He looks Well"
whilst BskyB "Subscriptions Swell"
BskyB have no regret!
The uk people are now in debt!
Their board room targets have been set!
Profit comes first and must be met!
OFCOM won't investigate!
This is why were in this state!
This Scandal looks like Water Gate!
i'll end this poem it's getting late :)I have a Grundig GUFSAT01SD Freesat Receiver. Can I use it on a spare sat dish to receive other satellite free transmissions? Greg Layton: No easily, you might find a "generic" box more suitable for receiving from other satellites. Michael: I bet you have a poem about Sir Fred Goodwin! NICKSunday 1 March 2009 8:05AM
Hi there i have an amstrad skybox which we use to get freesat, i have cut the cable as the TV/box setup is not going to be moved, now all i get is a no signal message onscreen, have i wrongly cut and affixed the connector or is it a a system problem. i have used a New connector to the connection in the box. my six month old is missing his programmes !!!!NICK: Sorry, I don't understand which cable you have cut - any why? MJ Ray: It is on the list! MJ Ray: My apologies. I have corrected the information at the top of the page. MichaelTuesday 3 March 2009 3:51AM
RBS Is in a mess
Putting savers through such stress
The Government shows some intention
To take away Fred Goowin's pention
Whilst people now are all in Debt.
Sir Fred shows signs of no regret.
His love of money is like lust.
That fades when he has turned to dust.

Royston We have a Panasonic combined DVD recorder /freeview tuner (DMR-ES20DEB), connected via SCART to an old Panasonic TV. We're on the Sandy Heath transmitter, over the last days the digital channels' colour is terrible, dark with no colour blending (just blue, red or green). DVDs and analogue quality is fine, and we've rescanned the channels - strength is high. Any idea what the problem is?tonyThursday 12 March 2009 6:44PM
