How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?

How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?

Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]

Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.

You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.

HD and "new EPG" boxes

If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button.

Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

It's essential to press the sequence [services] 401 [select] quickly without paying any attention to what's happening on the screen. Obviously there's no zero option on screen but just press the button anyway.

Once you see the RF OUTLETS menu, you can set the RF Outlet Power Supply to ON and then your magic eye remote extender should work. If it doesn't work then you probably don't have a good connection (unbroken run of satellite cable from RF2 to the magic eye is required. Some wall plates block the power. You need a DC-coupled wall plate).

syed: Have you ensured that the "RF Outlet power supply" is on? Also, it will not work if you "split" the aerial!

I have lost one of the MUX groups since connecting my Humax PVR up to my digital TV. If I disconnect the Humax and re-tune the TV the channels all re-appear, but even after changing the RF channel on the Humax the MUX disappears as soon as I re-connect the Humax to the TV.
Do you have any suggestions as to how to connect the TV via the Humax without losing any channels?
Briantist
Tuesday 11 March 2008 9:24PM
Debs: Just connect the aerial to the Humax box, and use this to view your channels? What value did you change the Humax to?
Debs

I changed the RF channel to various values within the range with the same results each time. After about 8 days of trying, the missing multiplex suddenly appeared on the HUMAX and everything is now hunky dory!

Briantist
Tuesday 15 July 2008 11:44AM
laura: No, you can't do that. You can only watch the channel that is being decoded and displayed by the Sky box.

I often wonder why you can't receive a HD channel on an ordinary sky + box?

It is blocked instantly wit a blue screen, whether it's a subscription channel or not.

I would have thought you would receive some kind of signal?

Briantist
Sunday 19 October 2008 4:56PM
Michael: The normal Sky boxes are a decade old and can't decode MPEG4 HD services.

we have found the rf outlet setup on the sky (4-0-1) BUT how do i tune the 2nd tv in so the magic eye works?
Briantist
Tuesday 21 October 2008 7:08PM
sarah clarke: Put the programme guide up on the Sky box, and then use autotune or a manual tune to find the screen on the 2nd TV. You need to set "RF Power Supply Output" to on, and use RF2 to connect the second TV.

I have just bought a DVD recorder - TECHNIK AEDVDRHDDS7 - and am trying desperately to set it up. Using the manual i have managed to automatic scan and find the terrestrial channels - 1,2,3,4 - but it will not find my SKY channels - please help I am going absolutely bonkers.
Briantist
Thursday 6 November 2008 1:19PM
Rachel: It cannot pick up the Sky channels, it can only record from the AV input to do that. You need to connect the DVD record to the Sky box using a SCART lead (into the one marked VCR).

Once you have done this, put the Sky box into standby mode to access the DVD recorder.

Thursday 13 November 2008 7:36PM Boston
How do i do this? do i connect the coax cable to RF2 or RF1 on the back of the sky+box, but instead of plugging it into my magic eye di i plug it straight into the bedroom tv?. chris
Briantist
Thursday 13 November 2008 9:08PM
Chris Shaw: Try both RF1 and RF2 and try both the magic eye and direct the the TV. Only then can you work out which bit isn't working...

Hi with reference to your last question,i have taken the magic eye out of the loop and put the coax cable from the RF1 and RF2 sockets at the back of my Sky+ box directly into my tv in the bedroom and both channels work. But i still cant get my magic eye to work? it did work fine till i connected it to my new box. Sorry to be a pain..Thanks Chris
