I will soon be coming to the North Sea (66° North) on a ship for a number of months and would like to know if you knew of the UK/North European satellite TV footprints at this latitude.
I have all of the external equipment I will need, i.e. gyroscopic satellite dome etc and know I would need to update the LNB to work in Europe.
I realise also that I will need to purchase a decoder box.
I notice that the UK currently supplies "FreeSat". Does this footprint extend to the North Sea at such a latitude? Would I be better exploring Norwegian options (as I will actually be closer to Norway than the UK.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Thanks.

w.kumm: You have not stated what your area is. You recorder won't do HD, but if you TV will then you can use Freeview HD, if you are in an covered area.

We were away on holiday in Feb and March and when we returned we found that we could no longer receive ITV1, and ITV2 plus Channels 4 and 5, all other freeview channels are o.k. We have tried re-tunning our box but this has not helped. We live in the Oxford area, do not know what 'Your sites URL' means so have left that blank.

Matt: You are using the Bath transmitter - Bath digital TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

This transmitter is a "public service" transmitter and does not carry the commercial multiplexes, as the owners did not elect to extend their services beyond the existing 81 transmitters Where are the public service (Freeview Light) transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

You might, however, be able to change your aerial and point it at the main Mendip transmitter, where all the services are provided.

Also, Freeview HD is provided from Bath (and Mendip), should you wish to upgrade to HD.
