Commercial multiplex restrictions lifted today at Hunshaw Cross and Mendip

The out restrictions that were placed on two transmitters commercial services at switchover were lifted today. Viewers using the Mendip transmitter will need to retune, and those on the edges of the Hunshaw Cross will have the full Freeview service from today if they retune.

Due to the frequency conflicts the Hunshaw Cross and Mendip transmitters had at switchover, they have restrictions placed on the output levels of the SDN, ArqA and ArqB multiplexes.

From today, viewers will need to retune if they use the Mendip transmitter as the channel allocations for these multiplexes have changed frequency.

If you use Hunshaw Cross and did not receive the SDN, ArqA and ArqB transmitters at switchover at all, you will also need to retune, but a retune is not required if you have already all of the Freeview channels.

Hi, I am confused. I checked both my TVs this AM to see if the March 28 retune/ power uplift had made any difference to Dave and Yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the reception was dramatically improved.
However, later this afternoon I find that Dave is missing. On both sets. One a loft arial, which was flakey, and the other a roof top arial, which normally got a useable Dave and Yesterday reception. As far as I can tell this is the only missing channel. This seems odd to me.I would expect to be missing several channels if a mux is down on power.
Will a retune fix the problem or is Dave "off air" currently.

Many Thanks

Colin Armstrong: I would do a complete reset and retune to be sure all old channel data is removed from your TVs.

See www.ukfree.tv link icon My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for more detailed explanation of the procedure.

If you have/previously had problems with picking up MUXes from other Transmitters then do a Manual Tune instead of an automatic one after the reset.
For Mendip the uhf channels are C61; C54; C58 (if you have HD); C48; C56; C52.
That is MUX order PSB1; PSB2; PSB3; SDN; ArqA; ArqB.

My daughter lives at postcode W11 1PH in London, and has never been able to receive Freeview channels 3,4,5,6,13,14,& 28, which are ITV & Channel 4 stations. The screen says either channel unavailable or no signal. Could this be a transmitter problem, or to do with her aerial or the TV itself? All other channels seem fine.

Andy Duncan: It is likely to be OK after switchover in three weeks' time.

As your daughter can get all the other multiplexes (groups of programme channels), then perhaps the one she is missing is just not quite strong enough at her location. The increase in transmission power at switchover on 18th April should see to this.
