I was about to write an article about get_iplayer when the developer withdrew from the project. However, it is due to return!
Published on by Brian Butterworth on UK Free TV I had written a "how to" article about using the get_iplayer application to perform a number of useful functions, such as getting HD content to your HDTV, or getting radio programmes as MP3 files to listen to off-line.
I see the ability for get_iplayer to download 4oD videos was removed. Has anyone done anything to resurrect this feature?
I've searched the internet but not found anything.
"However, I can exclusively reveal that a new team has taken over and is going to re-factor get_iplayer, and it will return soon. "
you made this statement a long time ago now and yet never followed up with any details, is there any app as of today that replaces this old app, and if so what is its working direct web page and details please ?
preferably a self contained unzip and run get_iplayer replacement app that works in both windows and linux for simplicity and livecd use.
Mike Dimmick: It works, but you have to make a modification to download HD content now, and I also found I had to run the script "as an administrator" for HD to download.
