It is easy to set up iPlayer on Freesat. Here is an explanatory video.
Published on by Brian Butterworth on UK Free TV A beta release of BBC iPlayer on Freesat is available to Humax Freesat boxes in December.
BBC iPlayer will roll out across all existing Freesat HD TVs and boxes in the next few months including those bought since Freesat's launch in May 2008.

When is BBCi Player being released on Freesat 7001.
I have a Panasonic DMR-XS350 Freesat HD Box, And I can not get BBCi player through it, It is connected to the internet.
Please help Kind regardas Graham..
Long-awaited ability to access iPlayer on 2008 Viera's seems to have been kicked into the long grass. Initial release dates were end of the summer, then October, now "Panasonic are not in a position to give a full update regarding the anticipated time line for the update". see Support - Product FAQs - Panasonic UK & Ireland .
We have iPlayer working just fine on our new Panasonic Viera on Freesat 901, but there are no radio programmes available - the channels just are not there. We used to catch up on some radio programmes using my son's Wii but would now prefer to use the TV.
Any ideas why there is no radio?
John Rudman: I'm not sure if the Radio programmes are carried by the Freesat version of iPlayer - they are missing from the Virgin version as well, I think.
Hello,
I've got a Bush freesat HD box wired to my Apple Airport Extreme base station next the the TV. I can find iPlayer on channel 901 and select programmes to watch etc. etc. But, I don't have any sound at all. I ideas how to fix this?
Thanks
Tudor
i get very poor quality streaming of bbci player thru my bush freesat. picure jumps and often goes out of sync with voice. it's hard wired via cat5 cable and we get 8MBs broadband. is this a common problem with this box? had a trial of humax freesat box and that seemed to run better. on laptop bbci player runs perfectly.
Hi I have a Humax Foxsat-HDR and have recently tried to get the BBC iPlayer working so connected the box to the LAN but...
When I go on to BBC1 and press the red button, I get the folowing list...
News, Sport, weather, Business, Entertainment,Royal Wedding, Sport multiscreen, Watch BBC HD ... but no iPlayer.
It also says "BBC iPlayer is coming to FreesatHD - 7001
Can someone explain how I get the iPlayer working?
CAn anyone please tell me how to configure an Airport Express to stream iPlayer to my Humax FreesatHD via a LAN connection. I am trying to achieve this by bridging to my home network (hence broadband connection).
When I plug the LAN into my laptop to test connectivity, I am informed that the cable is not connected. Naturally, I am also not getting iPlayer options when the LAN is connected to the Humax box. Thanks.
Ansel Spear: You won't be connecting to the Airport Expresss, the RJ45 connection on there is for the device to connect to your network, or directly to your router.
If you don't have spare Ethernet RJ45s on your home router, you will have to buy an Ethernet Switch so you can connect more than one device to your home router.
I think that you should setup the airport as a wireless bridge and plug the humax freesat into the Ethernet port on the airport.
This should pick up the wireless signal from your wireless router and provide it through the Lan Cable to the Humax.
I don't see why this should not work. You should also be able to check the connection to the Airport Express by plugging it into your laptop and using the LAN cable as your connection to your network.
Unfortunately I do not have an Airport Express, but reading all the documentation available, it should be able to be configured as a bridge for this purpose.

I know that this is about the BBC I-Player but what is happening with the ITV I-Player - it seems to have been in Beta for ever. is there any news on it being produced as a full service on Freesat?
Hi Briantist. I have an analog TV and an old Freesky box but would like to be able to get iplayer etc. What is my best way to achieve this? I am on BT broadband at a measured 7mbps. Your video tells me I can wire up a freesat box from the router, but is it possible to use wifi to do this and if so is it effective? Do I need two Arial feeds to make best use of a freesat box?
I have Freesat and it as to be HD TV/Box to get the BBC iplayer I can't get the ITV player.
I have no idea if Sky boxes will do the iplayer on a Sky HD or even your Sky box.
As regards you asking about aerials I'm wondering if you do in fact have Sky as this comes from satellites and a dish is used.
Hi David. yes I do have a dish, I use a simple freesatbox in the kitchen and an old Sky box in the sitting room. No I can't get iplayer on the old sky box or the simple freesat box, so I know I have to upgrade. I seem to be getting the message that I have to have two feed from the dish to run HD and a feed from the router for iplayer. Is that correct? BUT, can I use a HD box with my old analog TV?
Sounds to me you you would replace the Sky SD box with a FreesatHD box and connect that as the Sky box is to your old TV set and add a BB connect to the new box. I do not know if the Freesat HD would have a scart output that I assume you connect by now though, you would have to look before purchase.
I imagine on the HD channels you would see no improvement in quaulity.
Realy you should consider a new HD TV set with Freesat HD built in or Freeview HD built in and check before purchase it will get the iplayers.
freeview is no good to me as I don't have a freeview arial, but I do have a satellitedish that connects to my equipment so I might as well continue to use that. I don't want to get rid of a perfectly good television but I do want either play back or iplayer without having to pre record everything if I can find a way to do it.
Hi, I've been reading up the back posts and think you all seem to be implying that if I buy a freesat HD box I will be able to get iplayer. Is that correct?
Also, I need to know, do I need two coaxial lines from the dish or will one do the job?
Yes Freesat do broadcast the BBC iPlayer and a HD Freesat TV or box is required.
You would have to check before purchase the the particular TV or box will actualy do it.
Other question to be asked would be what about ITV Player and CH4 and Five ONDemand.
My Panasonic Freesat TV needs to be connected to the Internet for it to work so I guess your BB allowence will be used.
Think all that Freesat do is give the Selection screen and program comes via the Internet. As I'm with Be and unlimited and fast I have no worries.

David
