All Freeview equipment must be retuned at midday on 30 September 2009

No matter where you are, if you use Freeview from a box, have a Freeview TV or use a Freeview+ recorder you MUST retune on this day.

If you have ANY type of Freeview receiver, you will have to retune it on 30 September 2009.

To allow the introduction of Freeview HD, and to ensure that FIVE can be watched from the public service digital TV transmitters, ALL Freeview equipment must be retuned on WEDNESDAY 30 SEPTEMBER 2009 AT LUNCHTIME.

A simple "Add channels" scan will NOT be sufficient. This will result in channels being allocated the wrong numbers.

IF YOU NO LONGER HAVE ITV3, ITV4, FIVE, ITV2+1 or QUEST or they appear on channels numbered 800-899 then you have only "scanned for new channels". Go back and scan again using the "First time installation" option.

If you have a Daewoo DS608P, Labgear DTT100, Triax DVB 2000T, Portland DP100 set top box or these VCR/STBs: Daewoo SV900 or Bush IDVCR01, you need a new box.

It does sound an ambitious package, but worth further research. Thanks for all the suggestions, which have put my loss of digital teletext into context. I do have Ceefax in the interim. That's 3 x's in two lines! Thanks once again.

Since retuning I not able to recieve ITV3. As this is the channel I watch more than any toher - is there any way I can 'un-retune' so that I have channel 10? I have ITV1, 2, and 4. I have switched tv off/on. retuned again each day. It did come up on Sat but signal very poor. Please can I have ITV3 back!

Toni ... I lost ITV3 too, or so I thought until I found it right up at 411. Take a look right through your selection and see if you too can find it further up the scale.

Solent-Viewer: If that is the case, you did not correctly perform the rescan. You need to do it again using the "reset to factory settings" option, or if you can't find that, use My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent digital TV + switchover advice, since 2002

Toni: Sorry, but the channel has moved multiplex.

If you can watch FIVE USA and FIVER, you just need to do this www.ukfree.tv link icon My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent digital TV + switchover advice, since 2002

But, if you can't watch those channels, you can't get ITV3 any more.

Great! since the Winterhill switch-over I've lost BBC1 and BBC2 and can only now pick up a pixilated Welsh versions from North Wales. I have retuned several times on two TV's and get the same, The Aerial has been replaced when we first had Freeview 6 years ago. Not impressed and not looking forward to the rest being switched over, probably then will have no TV at all then...very poor show in my opinion, like everything else in this country it's all going down the toilet!

Neville George: Have you got the "correct" versions of BBC One and BBC TWO in the 800-899 channel range?

Now got BBC1 and BBC2 on 801 and 802 respectively, no wonder I couldn't find them. Also did a complete detune and retune so may have helped. Just got to figure out how to set them to my remote so I get the channels realined..thanks for that

Neville George: There are two ways of dealing with this, some boxes allow you to swap channel numbers around.

If you can't do that, you can always pull out the aerial from the box, start a full scan and when it gets past C45 (666.0MHz), quickly put it back in for C56+ (C54- in a month's time).

I'm retuning my Humax 9200t (MANUALLY and NOT Auto Mode). So far I've managed CH62 - PSB1, CH66 - MUX 2, CH68 - MUX A, CH56 - MUX C, CH63 - MUX D and all is fine. I'm now Missing both DAVE and SKY NEWS and I don't know which Channel to tune in Manually to find these 2 channels. Anyone know?

jennifer - plug your full postcode into the top right and it will say what you should get. Or just post it if confused and I will look!

To retune you will need "Menu" on your tuner remote, then find channel selection and do a "Replace all" or an "New Installation"
