I have a sky+ box which I was thinking of taking to my mobile home in the south of France - I currently have a free sat box there and receive the expected channels. If I replace the lnb with a twin down there will I be able to record one channel and watch another via my sky+ box?

HaI live in the Torbay area and have had successful freesat reception. I currently have a Panasonic TX-L42D25BA LED/LCD TV.
Just recently the program guide has become very slow to populate and gives 'NO RESULTS'when using the search function for programmes occuring 24hrs+. Picture quality is ok with occasional break up during very bad weather.
Any ideas?

Brenda Singfield: If your Freesat box is working OK at that location with the dish thats installed, then if you change the LNB to either a dual or a quad block and run an extra cable from the LNB then your Sky+ box will work OK the way you want but "only" if you are keeping the subscription running, as if not Sky will disable the recording side of the box and this includes play back of anything previously recorded.

By the way I only mentioned a quad LNB as not only are they only fractionally more expensive than a dual, but its handy to have two spare outlets should at any time you wish to add a Freesat dual channel PVR or similar.

Tim: Go into your TV's signal check screen and make sure that both the signal strength & quality levels are seen to be level pegging at about 75% or so, but if the quality is seen to be lagging to any extent then the dish is a fraction out of alignment, this most likely in the horizontal (left to right) plane.

If though the levels appear to be OK, then carry out a factory reset on the TV followed by a re-tune, this action will of course result in you losing any personal settings you may have carried out, like favourites etc.

I'm in the Rowridge transmitter area. Since the switchover I have a strange problem: I retuned the TV - all channels present with max signal strength and quality. BUT, on BBC4 the picture and sound disappear after a few seconds leaving a grey screen. If I bring up the EPG, it reappears. If I bring up any menu item, it reappears. When I go back to the programme it goes again after a few seconds. I can watch only if some other function is on the screen as well. I have tried retuning again, no change. Any ideas? It was OK before the switchover and subsequent retuning.

jb38: Thanks for your help - I had a niggle that I would not be able to record but wasn't sure - think I need to get a twin tuner free sat box instead - thanks again

Hi there, does anyone have any idea which government department is responsible for T.V. broadcasting / digital switchover? In particular, I'm looking for this info in relation to N.I. Many Tanx.
