Anyone else think the UK is getting left behind again?

I'm hearing rumours that the whole of the US broadcasting network is to go exclusively HD next February.

The UK is to get a couple of HD channels in 2009....

Al: That is a common error in fact, the whole system is going digital and there are many HD channels but not ALL channels are going to be HD.

Ah, so thats whats been misreported. I keep seeing it on a lot of web sites but no official reports on it.

I still feel the UK's dragging its heels a bit but as this will open a can of worms again I won't pursue that discussion any further.
