I have just purchased an AXIL sat dish and digibox to view bbc1 to 4 in Spain.
An alternative digibox does receive these channels with all other units being unchanged.I have entered PID nos identical to the alternative box for bbc1 to no effect. The Axil digibox refers to Astra 1 and Astra 2 and Astra 3A, not specifically 2D or 2A or 2B.
Can you advise please. I have 12 days left to return the box for a full refund...
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Thankyou
Bob Alexander: Astra 2 refers to the whole cluster of satellites at the 28.2 east position, which is actually Astra 2A, 2B and 2D and the Eurobird one satellite. You do need a huge dish in Spain to receive from the 2D satellites. (The Astra 1 satellites are at 19.2 east). It sounds to me that the dish might be too small.

For the PID codes, please see:

I have just installed a Sagem Freesat Box on an existing Satellite dish and cabling. It worked perfectly over the weekend but today (during a heavy downpour) I am receiving a very weak signal.
Is this something that sometimes happens or should this not be happening?Bill: It is quite normal for that to happen in "a heavy downpour". You can reduce this kind of event by using a larger dish. fayeMonday 14 March 2011 8:29PM
Rushden ive got a freesat commtel dish but i get the signal but quality could anyone help pleasefaye: Are you sure that the dish is aligned to the correct satellites? trishaMonday 21 March 2011 1:05PM
I have two Humax freesat (Foxsat) boxes. One of them has stopped working. When I switch it on all I get is the vertical line going around in a circle on the display. It used to do this for a moment and then go to APPL on the display but this now does not happen. I have tried swopping the boxes over and that has confirmed that it is the box and not the TV/arial etc. What's wrong? Can it be fixed?Hi Trica,
Yes, this is a box fault. your best bet is to contact Humax customer service.

Stoke-on-trent hello, I have just put up my new dish for Freesat. I have tuned it in using my satillite finder (and it looks to be in the correct alignment as it is pointing the same way as my sky dish (and my neighbours dish). I connect up my Grundig freesat box using the scart cable but it says there is no signal strength. I thought ahhh, it may be how i have connected the coax cable. so I ran another length, still the same. I then bought a second freesat box (I need one anyway as I will have to have 3 boxes eventually (3 kids). still no signal. so I then thought, it may be the TV. so I connected it to a second TV & exactly the same happens. No signal strength showing.
any ideas please ?wolSaturday 23 July 2011 5:13PM
Stoke-on-trent and I've checked that the LNB is on position No3. still no good. (would it tune in at all if it was on the wrong No ?) I.e If I had it on say No 4 instead on No 3 ?jb38Saturday 23 July 2011 5:42PM
wol: Its impossible for anyone (even the most experienced!) to try and visually judge if their dish is correctly aligned, I suspect that yours is not and is possibly set for 19.2 degrees, this being an extremely easy mistake for anyone to make thats using any of these lower priced sat finders, as on these type of devices everything has to be done in super slow motion or the null point between the satellites is missed.jb38Saturday 23 July 2011 8:30PM
wol: Just to add, that "if" when you say No3/4 etc you are referring to a quad LNB's outlet stub position, then it doesnt matter what stub you connected the cable to as they are technically all exactly the same.

I am using a freesat ferguson box and have had no problems then today without warning when I an on ITV 3 & ITV3 +1 that after a few seconds of viewing the screen goes blank with a message saying 'No cross carried date found. Please wait recover freesat services'bigbadteeTuesday 3 January 2012 7:16PM
bigbadtee: That message should read 'No cross carried DATA found, Please wait recover freesat services'ianWednesday 8 August 2012 7:02PM
i lost itv on my gundig freesat box and when i try to return it ask for codejb38Wednesday 8 August 2012 8:22PM
ian: As Freesat signals cover the whole of the UK (and beyond) TV's and boxes that can receive it require a post code to be entered for purposes of providing the correct service for the region that you reside in, and so if the message comes on again enter your post code. brianThursday 6 December 2012 8:44PM
