How to get Sky News on a Freesat box

Just a few button presses and you can have those channels that Sky hasn't yet allowed Freeview to give you... including Sky News

Just a few button presses and you can have those channels that
published on UK Free TV

On the set-top box:

Press [MENU] then [DOWN] twice, then [RIGHT], [DOWN] again to highlight "Manual Tune" and press [RIGHT].

On the menu scroll [DOWN] to "Transponder" and then use [DOWN] to find the value "12207V 27500 A".

Scroll down to the "Search" button and press [OK]. Tuning takes a few seconds to complete and press the [SAVE] button.

The set-top box is now in "non-Freesat mode". Press [EXIT] to see the TV picture, which will be Sky News, unless you have already added other channels, when it will be on the highest channel number.

To return to normal Freesat mode, press [MENU] again, and in the "Settings" menu, choose "STB Mode" and select "Freesat".

You can add any channel listed as free-to-air from this list: <img src="data:image/png;base64,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" class="xico" style="vertical-align:text-bottom" alt="www.lyngsat.com link icon"> link iconEurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2E - LyngSat

I have noticed on the channels with no signal there is no network I'd or transport stream, would this affect it too?

Becky: Yes, and with this being the case then you only really have one option to try, that of carrying out a first time installation and where you have to re-enter your post code which enables you to receive the correct local news services etc for your area.

If though this action does not correct the problem then unfortunately it points to your box having developed a fault, and which I suspect that it might have as satellite signals (unlike terrestrial based Freeview) are always there.

By the way, my reason for querying if you were definitely referring to a Freesat (satellite) box is because the two programmes you refer to as missing are both received on the same Freeview (via normal aerial) transmitter channel.

JP38: thanks I've already tried the new installation with no changes after.

It must be a faulty box as all others in my house work fine.

Thanks for your assistance

Becky: All others in the house? because should you have another Freesat box then try connecting it onto the coax feed "from the dish" thats normally used for the Bush, or alternatively try the Bush on the other Freesat boxes coax.

This test purely for the purpose of double checking that the Bush is indeed faulty.
